My close friend grandmother house in on 35th between trinity and San Pedro . We used to ride our bikes from the jungles over there in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Riding down mlk once u passed Broadway u could feel/see the change most definitely. I never felt unsafe but the difference was obvious. The amount of graffiti , the types of graffiti . That’s the first time over seen the whole inside of a school struck up w graffiti. Es Clanton & 30 piru were the gangs that were on my friends grandma street. We used to ride up and down San Pedro from Jefferson to king and we would hit bills tacos. I was like between the ages of 10-12. Good times. ❤

Webster and Palisades? So since you mentioned the north side of Slauson, does this include 54th Street School too? I went to all 3. @54th-King of the school fights at the gulley. Kevin Hagen (White Cat), Lil Monster, ect went there. @Webster-“Scenic!” “Half A Scenic!” @Palisades-Open campus for lunch! W/S vs E/S. @ Webster (early 70’s) we all wore Ace Duces, Knit Sweaters, Blue Jeans with hangin suspenders and Biscuits. Willie Forbes had 5 Ace Duces and wore a different color one each day. The Cats bussed from the E/S dressed the same but had a different vibe. Real Different! W/S vs E/S. @ Palisades these same E/S Cats kinda stuck out. Press and curls wearing Taylors. Since you know both sides you are one of a handful that knew about 2 Buddah Markets. The one on Slauson and the other on 41st and Avalon!
