Gift wrap! I just bought reusable cloth bags on Amazon because Christmas with 5 kids is such a mess with all the paper wrapping, bows, etc!

Also, similar to the spices, I got rid of the "cute" matching storage containers for cereal, etc. The box is just fine! It's just one more step putting it in the container and half the time I forget what all the cereals/etc are.

I make 'sock bandages' from single socks for the kids. They had a Phase where they got hurt constantly and wanted bandages all the time. It drove me crazy 🤪 So now I cut off the tip of the sock, store them in a box. And the kids can put them on easily. And I save a lot of money 💵

I am not really big on the minimilistic bandwagon that seems to be popular right now. However I do appreciate this video, I have always liked a clutter free bathroom and kitchen. You gave me some ideas to make it even more visually pleasing. Living room is where I don't take the bare minimalism. I like my living room to be warm and welcoming, with plants and a few accessories to make it feel homey, otherwise it is way too stark and feels like something is missing. I did get rid of alot of books to streamline the living room., even that made a big difference without making it look extremely bare and looks so much better.

The downside for me is that if a spill happens nearby, the paper towels sitting on the counter ALL get wet, rather than being lifted off the counter with a holder. Ours attaches to the bottom of a cabinet, to keep it up off the counter and leave the counter clean though.

This one is killing me. :( I'm not a big shoe person and not particularly attached to stuff anyway, so I don't mind replacing my tennis shoes and sandals. But I have an 8 week old now, and haven't been able to comfortably fit my feet into my riding boots (and horse riding boots are expensive!) or muck boots (my everyday farm chore boots that I adore, and this particular one has been discontinued). 😭 I'm going to give it a few months, to see if post-partum weight loss makes it so I can fit in my boots again, but I hate having stuff around that isn't usable. Also, walking through mud in my tennis shoes is unpleasant in the mean time!

Yey! So glad you posted another video! Hey I was thinking on how you all are debating moving out of FL but not sure where. Have you looked into San Antonio? It has a 60% Latinx population and you can get a 4bd 2ba home for under $300k! Plus it's super family friendly city. Also, like Florida, it has theme & waterparks as well. Humidity is also way less than FL.

Yes! Everyone is moving to San Antonio 😊 I’ve been here for 15 years and love it. Sometimes I think about moving but when I think about everything that I have easy access to like hospitals, grocery stores, etc I stay put 👍🏼 the city has grown exponentially since I moved here but it still feels small to me compared to like Houston or Dallas, I get anxiety just thinking about those big cities

I think you are both great though, one thing I highly disagree with, hiding your kid's small successes and creativity you say hide it away. That is good =( It is definitely setting a bad example in my opinion. For your kids to see visually for a portion of time their own work being displayed helps them stay motivated to continue succeeding and staying motivated. Yes this is a very real thing. So yes I do think hiding your kids work makes it seem you don't care wether or not they do well.

I'm troubled by your constant use of the term, "get rid of". I was hoping you were going to say, " recycle" or "use up". To me, the term "get rid of" is code for " throw in the trash". When I find half-used bottles of products or packets of ketchup or hot sauce, I feel the responsible thing to do is USE THEM. You brought them into the house. Now don't just fill up the dump with stuff you can't deal with.

@@TheArmsteadFamily It sounds flippant and unaware. As if you don’t care that you’ve added to wastefulness in the landscape…because ultimately that’s a landing pad for unwanted items.

Maybe you could say “pass on items” instead of “get rid of”? Of course an old worn out bath mat would go in the trash. 😉💞

It does seem like you all are so serious and somber... but maybe it's because so many youtubers are extra bubbly?

A paper towel holder is never in the way. It just sits inside the paper towel. Why the romantic music about getting rid of junk?

I really enjoy your videos, but this one was so depressing. The quiet sad music, along with your quiet monotone voices sounded like a commercial for cancer treatment, or funeral services for a loved one. 😂. Love your content though!

They will not want them. Trust me. My kids and grandkids don’t want anything of ours except a few items of jewelry I wear often and my son wants one beer stein. All photos are digital. They have their own stuff. We “inherited” 60 years worth of stuff from my husband’s parents. A garage full. Ugh.
