We logged 67.7 miles at Disneyworld in June. That was over 6 days. I listened to AJ in January when she said we'd walk 10 miles a day. I was like, "Uh, what?? Come again?! I don't think I could do even 3 miles!" This was just the motivation I needed to get healthy. I started working out, eating low carb, and logging miles on Jan. 20th. By June 12th, I was 30 lbs lighter. I was still sore, mind you, but we did 12 miles a day. I was able to keep up with my family and enjoy myself. So listen to AJ when she says you will WALK. And thank you, AJ, for helping me get healthy. I'm closing in on -50 lbs. And it started with you!

As a Floridian, I can tell you that those cooling towels are a godsend. That and the disposable ponchos. You can also bring a pair of cheap flip flops, and Change into those when the rain starts. Then you can put your sneakers into a plastic bag to keep them dry. Switch back to your sneakers when the rain stops. Rain storms in Florida usually don’t last long, but it’s better to do rides with indoor queues in the afternoon when it’s more likely to rain.

We used the Genie app to minimize wait times and to avoid the longest lines. We also plan a late lunch and we either leave after park close or during fire works and we never are there for line drop. That keeps u away from the longest lines of the day. But it is a lot of waiting, u have to get everyone in the frame of mind that waiting is going to happen. Planning is essential in a way that is never was in the past.

Regarding the price of food. This may just be a mind thing or a poor way to budget, but I buy Disney Gift cards in the $25 and $50 dollar amounts from Sam's club well in advance. By doing so you get a 4% discount and you build up a stash. I then use these cards to lessen the sticker shock at check out times. I know that in the end I only saved the 4%, but it feels a lot better. So in a way, It's a little Disney Magic to add to all the other things that are make believe! As a side note, if you buy the gift cards in the higher dollar amounts you are only saving 3%. Go figure....

I didn't even know that adults went to Disney without having children until a friend took me and my fiance a couple years ago and from that moment on, we were hooked. We went to universal for years before, but after having such wonderful service and feeling welcomed at every turn, we changed our annual passes over to Disney. Unfortunately, it has become so expensive and they keep taking away things that made the trip extra magical (free parking, free wristbands, extra magic hours, limited construction, etc.) that we had to get rid of our passes, but we do hope to get it once again when we can afford not worrying about those extra dollars spent and all of the new rides are done being built.

Muscle Roller Sticks! These saved my vacation. They're light and compact, so packing them away in luggage is no issue. Every night when I got back to my resort from the parks, I would roll out my feet, calves, hamstrings, and lower back before bed. I felt refreshed in the morning without any muscle fatigue. This is a must for every vacation now and it's the advice I tell anyone going, who may be worried about all of the walking they will be doing.

Big yes to the rule breaking. On my most recent trip, the line for the teacups was total anarchy. Much of it was kids waiting and riding alone while the parents took a break on a bench, but there were also adults cutting the line and ducking under the chains. And when I tried to say something, they yelled at me like I was in the wrong. A lot of families think they can send one person to do all the waiting in line and then just walk right up to them when they get close, too! We all get it if one or two people have to step out to use the bathroom now and then, but this was crazy!

I always love to talk about how my husband started his love of WDW. I figured he would prefer Universal over Disney as Universal has the Marvel section, but time and time again he talks to people about the theming of Disney. He always comments on how nice it is to wait in a themee line vs just a plain serpentine style line. Specifically, I love when we went to Toy Story Land and we we in line for Toy Story Mania. We approached the Chalk box and my husband goes "They will have my respect if they committed and made the chalk in the box." Being 6'5 he stretched his arm up and took a pic of the inside of the box and was impressed/stunned they committed to full chalk replicas in the box. 😂 He still tells everyone that Disney outshines everyone else on theming!

Warning: What you're going to see next is PURE GOSSIP LOL AJ: You will see some beautiful moments in dw but you will also see some terrible things in dw. Me: I remember the time when I was in disney springs close to the bus stop with my mom and I, and we saw a mom leaving her baby in between the bushes and just running away (the baby was like a month old or som) then the baby started crying while mom ran away......... then the dad comes back and catches the mom running away but he doesnt see the baby then he asks the mom where the baby is. Mom stops running and comes back, then she points at a bush. Dad sees the baby and his face turns red as if hes about to blow. Mom starts crying but holds back tears. Dad stays there silently. Baby crying. Dad picks the baby up. Mom apoligizes (i have no idea what she said cause they were kinda far away from us but i think she was apologizing or explaining something idk).... Anyways, it was all a mess and I was 9 at the time so I was so confused. My mom and I were watching the whole thing while waiting for the bus. Then, I ask my mom what was going on but she had no idea either. Some minutes later the bus comes and we get in and everyone starts whispering about what happened earlier ......... We still had NO IDEA what just happened LOL..... IT WAS ALL A MESSSSSS So....yea....... AJ was right!!! :D

I got lost in Disney World when I was around 5(2002). I remember looking at Buzz toys looking up, and my family that was just next to me were gone. I tried to look for them, but couldnt find them. I leaned up against a pillar and started crying. Then a cast member asked if I was okay and I told them what happened. So they took me to a cast member at a pretzel stand. The cast member walked me around the Bugs Life area, and other places helping me look for my family. Eventually we found them, and I got free ice cream. I hate being pushed, but had to cave at the end of the day on occasion. my saving grace was wheelchair/bodybuilding gloves. My hands were shredded. It was like I had walked bare feet. Also, the cost of healthcare. I knew it was expensive, I have heard the stories, but I wasn't expecting an ear infection to cost over $1000. I'm a brit, so I am used to the doctor to be free and the prescription to be less than £10. It nearly gave me a heart attack.

I Haaaaaate the no lids and no straws with drinks! I get it, it's for the environment and I'm sure it cuts down on their plastic trash which is great. But, oh my Stars! It is the biggest hassle trying not to spill everywhere! I tend to nurse my drinks very slowly so I'm carrying them everywhere, while I walk and while I wait in line. And without a lid/straw, one bump from someone and I've spilled all over myself. Ughhhh... Also, do not get me started on paper straws, they are worthless. They turn into pulp and fall apart, still in my drink! I've seen biodegradable straws, at the Jeffery's coffee booths, that are a hundred times better than those darn paper straws!

I feel so embarrassed because the tears start flowing and I have no control, it's crazy. The parades at MK gets me too. My son always says "mom not again". This year is going to be incredibly emotional because I turn 50 and my son graduated from high school. Huge celebration for us, can't wait! The sad part is I don't know when we'll get back. I have been taking my son to Disney since he was 3, he is now 18 and still loves the place. I would like to do something extra special like maybe ordering a cake for 1 of our table service meals but don't know which place would be the best to do it at. Any suggestions? Where you’re dropped off at can also effect then price so keep that in mind too! Between our two groups it was much cheaper than renting a car for the full week and it felt worth it to us! Most parks had designated pickup/drop off areas and the apps only list those locations too. Disney transportation helps with minimizing the costs in between certain locations too so using both helped stuff move really smoothly

I went to Disney in 78, 82 and 85 and loved it. Went back in 2005 and couldn’t believe how complicated the parks have become. It’s sad to think I’ll never be able to go back again. I don’t even have a smartphone so right there I’m dead in the water.

I hope at some point Disney gets a hold of how frustrating it has become for many people to actually enjoy their trip without having to be tied to their phones .

the only thing that bugs me about ECVs are the people who can't park them on the bus themselves... never learned to parallel park a car, either, I bet.

If it's that stressful, and have to plan so much, it's not really a vacation. And for the cost, it shouldn't be that way.

So I’ve been a dedicated Disney fan since I can remember but because my parents could never afford to go to Disney parks I would always just watch KZbin videos about it. But this year I just turned 18 and 1 month ago my parents scheduled a trip to Disney World and I swear I’m not a crybaby but I was balling my eyes out when I saw Cinderella’s castle at the end of Main Street. It was the most amazing feeling in the world and we’ve decided we’re going to go every year from now on.

One thing I missed in the parks is a rest room or break area were you can sit down and take a nap for an hour when tired. That would help many. J.

Yeah, at 62 I’m wondering if I could do it anymore. Been there 3 times in my life so I understand the hassles, but my legs aren’t what they used to be. It’s helpful to have videos like this to help think it through.

Great video! I am always prepared for the Florida weather ever since I got caught in one of those crazy sudden storms (not at an amusement park at the time). The rain clouds came out of nowhere, dumped rain so hard you could not see and flooded the roads/sidewalks/parking lots, stopped about 30 minutes later, and then was completely clear to the point that you didn’t even know it rained (other than the increase of humidity). It was such a shock to experience the first time in person. At our first trip to AK I did get caught unprepared for the paper straw/no lid situation, but now I always carry my reusable straws and 2 small empty thermoses to pour drinks into for all trips to any amusement parks. They have come in handy every time.

It will get easier.. just take lots of pictures ( memory maker) let them be kids… let them have a mickeys ice cream bar at 9am if they want.. just sit back.. soak it on and enjoy the memories!!! I hope you have an amazing time!!!!

I don't ever want to think I will lose track of my daughter. Tip: take a pic of your kiddos every morning because most likely you're not going to know what your kids are wearing everyday. You can show CM what they look like.

Lol I'm always surprised how people don't know how intense and how elaborate Disney World is. . . I grew up traveling and my mothers go to trip was Disney World because it's a trip within itself. I have only been 5 times in my whole 28 years of life but each time I remember how amazing it is and just how much appreciation I have for Walt and the imagineers, cast members, animators, etc. I have been trying to work here for ever and a day, who knows maybe one day one of those perfect careers will open up! :)

i went during spring break this year. we had one day in hollywood studios and we were all looking forward to seeing rise of the resistance. it was the #1 ride i was hoping to get on that whole trip and we didn't make it into the virtual queue. it felt so unfair, like i didn't even have a chance. me and my family were so frustrated and devastated.
@sherrybrewer57153 жыл бұрын
I’ve been 3 times and tried the virtual que twice each visit and still haven’t gotten to go on the ride. I’ve had my phone up and ready the very minute it was open..no help! It is so disappointing!

So my mom and I are old Disney pros but it’s insane how much of a “aunt Susan” she can be to our party at any of the theme parks: She is always hurrying us to different rides/shows, pushing us to not be tempted to buy things while we are in a “rush”, and how eating will have to happen when the time is right 💀 Again these things are understandable I know she just wants the best for our family to have a fulfilling experience every-time but it gets truly exhausting at times (Universal Parks included)
