That's interesting about the belt shift. I never knew that it may not shift all the way to OD like that. Guys with Juggernauts shouldn't have that. Once belt shifted they still have around 1.4:1 gear reduction.

I run a 60 rear and 14tooth max torque getting 56mph 💪🏼💯💨💨💨💨 good info and debunking havent ever used a tc or even put my leg near one😅

Im running a tq with an 18t on it and a 48t on the rear tire 13in. I'm able to hit and mantain 57mph im running a juggernaut driver pulley though. I can still wheelie but the driver pulley doesn't fully engage. I also hit the same top speed with a 13t on the tq and the 48 on the back. The juggernaut fully engages with the 13t. I keep running the 18t because I plan on adding a higher lift cam and ratio rockers to see if I can get a little more torque out of the engine. Rn it's a tillotson 212e with 26lbs springs, a mod 2 cam, and a vm22 carb. I'm going to swap to a .272 mongoose cam, low drag billet flywheel, a 3.308 billet rod, and a flat top pistion in a month or two. I'm waiting to do it all at the same time. Because I'll probably have to clearance the crankshaft and my tillotson is not okay with parting from the flywheel, it'll come off but it's harder than any other engine i own to take it off.

How do you determine the max and min ratios of a torque converter (specifically a gy6 for my application)? On a separate note, I've never seen a torque converter go into "overdrive" before; that's really interesting. I don't think the gy6 CVT has the overdrive feature

Have You tried a 20 series CVT ? it is the same size as the 30 series but has a symmetrical belt and they don't slip as much as the asymmetrical belts. The only drawback to them is that you have to run a jackshaft to get the driven pully in right , no backplate bolted to the engine.

Actually my next move would be to switch to a 40 to upgrade but keep it on the cheap. This would keep me in the tunable sub $200 range.

hmm are the cvt tuneable like a scooter? i would get a different Variator and clutch with different weight sliders.

Yes they can. 3 driven springs and several driver weights as well.
