I predict that sooner or later, you are going to find out why proper footwear on the job is important. Oh and the spinning can thing... Ummm. no. Centrifugal force will keep the contents of the can at the ends, actually preventing them from being mixed. You're much better off just shaking it. Other than that - pretty cool.

I'd like to say on the tip at 14:22, first there's no need to take the clip handles out just to install them on the block. Just flip them up out of the way. Saves a bit of hassle. Also, except in close quarters cases, no need to take them out to use the block. either. Again, just flip them up out of the way. Finally, I'd suggest using a block double that thickness, to keep fingers further away from potential splinters. Otherwise, some nice ideas here. The paint mixer (11:25) can be scaled up with a longer bar & heavier zip ties, too - though I made a heavier duty stirrer with steel and a welder. 😉 The wheel barrow hanger (12:22) is nice, as is the method of opening the zip tie bags (10:20). I might even invest in a heat gun so I can do the one at 2:30 & extrapolate it to other things I could form the plastic into with it.WHOA, THERE! At 20:12, what the HELL are you doing wearing SANDALS, and PLASTIC sandals at that, in the SHOP?? That's BEGGING for trouble!

@umelec-diy2 жыл бұрын
@biktor20082 жыл бұрын
@user-wi1oe4rt8l2 жыл бұрын

About using the drill on the paint can. I have some doubt that it mixes. It just acts as a centrifuge p, not “shaking” the contents to mix. Any thoughts readers?
@alimali21202 жыл бұрын
There is inside of can an iron ball to mix , to shake or whatever yo want .
@pederstrand83492 жыл бұрын
Centrifugal force will cause the agitation ball to be forced to the farthest end away from center. Shaking resolves that issue.

Didn't understand the countersunk screw to prevent wood split at 16:50 .
@johnknight56392 жыл бұрын
I looked at that twice, and I can't figure out what he was trying to convey.
@raygrinders39182 жыл бұрын
@@johnknight5639 I'm too lazy to go to the drill's website, but I assume the black button has an option to let the driver slip when the screw gets tight. Don't know if that's much of a secret otherwise; maybe only to those, like me, who don't have that on their drills.
@ThumperG2 жыл бұрын
When he sunk the screw the first time the wood split. To prevent this, he runs the drill in reverse on the second screw which basically bores out a bit of a pilot hole. Once he feels the hole is deep enough, he switches the drill to now drive the screw like you normally would. By running it reverse first, the hole it creates prevents the wood from splitting.
@ThumperG2 жыл бұрын
@@raygrinders3918 The black button controls the direction that the drill spins. He was just showing the camera that he was switching it from counter clockwise rotation (which he used to create a pilot hole) to a clockwise rotation (used to drive the screw into the bored).
@raygrinders39182 жыл бұрын
@@ThumperG OK, so driving backwards makes the screw act as a drill for as long as the user can pressure the screw into the wood. Got it, thanx! Hey, I might start doing that on my PVC pipe project and stop fumbling with my old drill's chock to go back-and-forth from bits to screwdriver tip.

Here's a good tip. Don't work in your workshop wearing only open-toed shoes. You risk serious injury if you drop something heavy on your unprotected toes!
