the "my friend Tom" story has such a nice ending. I have a little brother (age 25) with moderate autism who sometimes behaves in very strange ways, and I wish more people could respond with understanding and compassion like this. He's had a very hard life, and a few run-ins with police that didn't need to escalate to that point. As a child the author may have been scared and that's valid, my own brother can be very scary for a spectator when he's agitated, but I'm so glad the author has the compassion to come to an understanding with Tom and the care facility.

Wow, that first story reminds me a lot of my own experiences as a kid being stalked on several occasions. Never did figure out who was involved or why they were coming for me, even the cops couldn’t find anything the time they got involved after it occurred on school property. Whoever they were they finally got tired of following my boring childhood self. I haven’t seen or heard of them in years but I can say for sure the trauma and slight paranoia will probably always be there, especially after realizing they could show up whenever they felt like it and no one seemed able to stop them.

I know it there's Reddit for almost anything. And I wonder if there is a Reddit That is the opposite of let's not meet. Something that would say things like -"I was following this girl home on the subway and she kept looking back like she could see me but I'm not really sure. I wanted to be the biggest creep possible so I started leaving random things outside of her doorway, like a cat leaves presents. Who doesn't like presents?
