Let's keep the comment section positive! I know many have their opinions about the Misti Stamping Tool and how it's affected the availability of other tools. Just remember there are two sides to every story. Keep in mind that this tool really revolutionized how we stamp regardless of our preference. If it's too expensive - create your own (there are videos out there for that!), if you think that stamp platform is better - that's fine by me! Don't agree that it's patented? Talk to a lawyer. If you don't agree that there is a biblical saying on the tool? It's your choice to buy and freedom of speech and religion is something I truly value in democratic societies. Any other issues? Well, it's a tool so let's move on instead of spreading even more negativity in a negative world. Hugs to you all! I hope my message isn't read as rude I just don't feel like dealing with drama in the comment section. All I have to say this is the first tool I bought, I support women in business, I support innovators, I support anyone who makes my crafty life easier.

Some people just don’t put brain into gear before saying what’s on their mind. 🤦🏻♀️🙄 Truly, a negative comment after you’ve put together 30+ ways to use the MISTI. How about some appreciation for the time and effort that has gone into you putting the video together and the fantastic ideas shown?! Well done on the great vid, great editing, and awesome comeback. Some people just need to hear it. 💪🏼😂

Having been a rubber stamper for decades, I did my cards differently before the MISTI. I always stamped the sentiment or the simple element first. There was nothing more heartbreaking that spending an hour on a specialty design of a coloring or embossing technique, only to bobble or stamp crookedly the sentiment. Now, with MISTI, I can add that at the end to finish the card! It's truly a blessing to be able to stamp something multiple times.

There is no doubt that my MISTI changed my cardmaking game. I absolutely dreaded stamping, and now I love it and my cards have benefited greatly. One of my best investments. 💜

Soon after the MISTI came out, I was taken with it and my precious husband bought me the small one and the large one, too for a birthday gift! He has been gone for over 3 years now, but when I use my MISTI, I always think of him (and that can be almost every day!). Sorry if you get drama on comments. Just dont understand that. You would think card makers would be nicer!

So many tips I can use, even though my stamping platform isn't a MISTI. Thanks, Justine!
@andrealavigne78244 жыл бұрын
Awesome tips, Justine! One thing I can add as a substitute for your washi tape positioning trick. You can get gridded plastic template sheets that are made for quilters to make patterns. I got mine in the fabric/sewing department at Hobby Lobby. You can cut them down into strips to fit in your MISTI. I have a few pieces I've cut into different widths. Then you can butt your cardstock up against this plastic "bumper." The plastic is thin enough to fit without messing with your stamping, but a hair thicker than cardstock, so you don't have a problem snugging the cardstock against it. It is also reusable. I also cut A2-size panels from this sort of template sheet. I marked one with black Sharpie lines down the center horizontally & vertically, and use this to help me center stamps on card panels in my MISTI, or just to help me get them straight. I marked the other--which I admittedly don't use as often--with Sharpie lines 1/3 of the way in from each edge, for a Rule of Thirds grid. The only time I've had to toss a sheet & cut/mark a new one is when the red grid lines wore off/faded. I recently got a couple of red Ultra-fine Sharpies so I could trace over any red lines that fade like that. You can even make larger templates for larger cards, if desired. The sheets are letter-size, & generally come in a package of maybe 5(?). They are relatively cheap, though I also used a coupon for mine, and so a good option, imo. I got this tip from one of Maureen Wong's videos. Hers actually predates the Creative Corners coming out. Anyway, I hope this all makes sense--just thought I'd share. Thanks so much for doing this video. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

Wow! Thank you for this! I’m thinking of purchasing the MISTI. I don’t do a lot of stamping although I do own quite a few of wood block stamps. I do have issues getting a straight stamp. I love your “hacks!” I do own a silhouette cutting machine and an electric Sizzix. I have cleaned my mats with soap & water and use a plastic scraper like a PAMPERED CHEF scraper. Also, I have used WD 40. Spray it on, let it sit a few minutes, scrape it off and rinse with soap and water. Brake fluid worked as well as baby wipes. Thank you again!! I am excited to get one now.

Thanks for compiling the uses in one place. I have been using sticky grid paper instead of magnets. I attach it to the mouse pad or a laminated sheet and use it over and over. Yes it gets dirty, but I am crafting! You can also attach it directly to the door, it is easily removed from the lid when not used. This way you can easily use unmounted red rubber stamps and even card stock on the door!

When I started adding stamps to my art practice, I quickly realized that many of the really cool, advanced techniques were a lot harder without a stamp positioner tool. What really intrigued me was the versatility of a tool like this. I love having tools that I can use in many different ways because it means I get more value than I paid for. I was shocked though at how controversial the Misti was when I read the comment sections under KZbin videos featuring it. It's sad, really. I think a lot of it stems from a lack of understanding of what it takes to create and sell products, especially in a globalized world in which intellectual property rights are very hard to protect. Anyway, I've been binge watching your videos for a few days because I like your approach and attitude. Looking forward to learning more from you in your VIP membership program.

I'm new to the new MISTI. I love that the hinged lid now is slightly bigger and that the bar magnet snuggles in to it's own spot. I noticed that you have used several various colors of the MISTI. One caught my eye early at the 4:52 mark on the video. It's black and kinda marbled looking. Was this something you did to the MISTI or can you purchase it this way? One day when my MISTI is ready to be replaced (which could be 10 years down the road) I would like this new one. Or, If I've enabled someone to start card making and see that they really like it I'll pass down my old but still good MISTI. It's fun to encourage people who are just starting out and give them a few tools/paper etc to work with. Plus it gives me another crafting buddy. Drama about the MISTI? Sheesh. I really love mine and it certainly changed card making. No more wasted paper or frustration. Especially the frustration. Thanks for the video. I hope you actually are able to answer the question but I am a year and a half from viewing when the video first came out so I'll understand if I don't get an answer back.

She loved it and showcased it on some of her videos. It was just a gift at the time, but Cathy got a lot of feedback. My husband will be retiring soon and I retired a few years ago. With Cathy’s encouragement, I opened my first Etsy shop. If you have time, I would welcome any thoughts or feedback. @lilguysmom694 жыл бұрын
Laura...you want to NOT USE the black foam pad when you're using a rubber stamp that is 2 layers...where the stamp has the rubber image AND a foam layer attached to it...like most of the Stampin' Up! cling rubber stamps. You should only need the black foam pad when you're using clear/photopolymer or silicone stamps...tho silicone stamps are typically not very good quality as they get hard & crack unlike photopolymer stamps. I hope this helps you!

Thank you for this great video, I have a stamping platform and these are great hints/tips. Can I just ask why you don't use magnets every time to keep your project secure? I use mine every single time to keep the paper in place or for stamping off edges. I notice sometimes yours lifts when you are done stamping and wouldn't this ruin a project if it slipped or got extra ink on it somewhere? Or if you are stamping on not a square I find the magnets are helpful, why not use the magnets instead of a cricut mat. Just asking out of curiosity?
@justinehovey4 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, I find that most of the stamps I use when they are new, they are so sticky that they shift the paper anyway. I just find it easier to just move it back to the corner than to lift the magnet and adjust. Just a personal preference
