Grabe depends on the context. It also depends non how you say it because tone is also important. It can mean something serious or it can mean a compliment, or just an expression, so maybe if you learn when to say it with the right tone, then it will not cost a friendship anymore.😅

"grabe ka" means ur too much. grabe means too much. Anyways, I watched the podcast from other channel and u guys are awesome. unconsciously, most of us Filipinos like to exaggerate things. Grabe! came from the English word "gravity" rooted out from the Latin word "Gravitas" which means "heavy", "weight" or "seriousness". it is similar to the word "Sobra" which means "overwhelming". 😎👌 .. It's just the way we express ourselves regardless of what degree the word or situation it may be..

fyi, according to our professor benjie lozare, the institute of mass communication (imc) now college of mass communication (cmc) of the university of the philippines, conducted a research study in 1973 on the various asian languages. he said, based on this research, it turned out that the philippines' tagalog language is most polite, most courteous among all asian languages due to the word "PO, OPO, HO, OHO" often used when speaking with the elderly as well as strangers. for this reason, he disclosed, filipinos should preserve the tagalog's "PO, OPO, HO, OHO" for it is very unique even among the hundred plus filipino languages.

Yep Sol In English The Grammar I am serious While in tagalog The word I is always at the end I = Ako Seryoso ako The next word Loka loka sya = She's crazy Loko loko sya = He's crazy Sya is always at the end . It doesn't address the context of the sentence if female or male . Understand that the verb loko loko is the giveaway if the subject is male or female .

5:44 the word ‘tapos’, depending on how you say it (intonation) could have two meanings. Your example on this video, it means ‘and then’ or ‘what else’. The other meaning is ‘end’, ‘finish’, ‘done’, or ‘over’. For example: You’re asking if the movie is over or finished, you say ‘tapos na’? 😉😉😉

6:52 when using numbers for money, we use the spanish ones. example: dos pesos, cincuenta pesos and etc. Atleast in Davao we do that lol

"Ba" is also derived from "va". In Filipino it is used to confirm something. "Talaga ba?" in Tagalog. "Mao ba?" in Cebuano. But if you add "Como" in the phrase it would mean that "So it goes like that?" or "So that's how it went?"

Hope you get your views like before.... I'm always trying to catch up on your videos.... Ba-baba ba? hahaha... You usually use this if for example you want to get into the elevator but you have no idea where it's going... Basically just asking if "it's going down" Root word is Baba = Low/Down; Taas = Up (Pa-taas ba?) Tagalog is weird for the word maganda because maganda = for babae guapo = for lalake; they also use "pogi" this is also widely used But for Bisaya/Cebuano which is more Spanish Guapo = Lalake, guapa = Babae, I have never heard people use this in Tagalog but I know they would understand.

You have not mentioned it, but I guess by now you also already know the Tagalog words for greetings or salutation like "magandang umaga po" (good morning), "magandang tanghali po" (good noon), "magandang hapon po" (good afternoon), or "magandang gabi po" (good evening), also the days of the week (Linggo, Lunes, Martes, Miyerkules, Huwebes, Biernes, Sabado) and the months from Enero to Disyembre. Try to learn more than "isa, dalawa, tatlo" as you mentioned in this vlog, maybe in time you will be able to count till "isang daan" 😊 When used as quantities, we usually use the Tagalog words with the "ng" like what you already learned to do (isang video, dalawang babae, etc.), but when telling time and money, it's actually more usual to use the Spanish words, like "ala una, alas dos, alas tres, alas kwatro, alas singko, till alas dose" than saying "ika-isa ng hapon, ika-walo ng gabi, ika-labindalawa ng hatinggabi, o ika-anim ng umaga" for telling the time, and it's more common to say "bente pesos", "singkwenta pesos", etc. than saying "dalawampung piso" or "limampung piso". Hopefully you will find these few tips useful. 😊

I'm impressed that you know how to conjugate adjectives by adding "ng" at the end! (like isang calamansi). You can do this for any adjective that ends with a vowel. For example, magandang sapatos (beautiful shoes). But if the adjective ends with a consonant you can use "na." For example, asul na sapatos or sapatos na asul (blue shoes).

Then maybe they wikk give it discounts.. Also u may wanna experiment with -na, -eh, ah, ay. Kain na (po) let’s eat Ay ang mahal ( oh its expensive) Hindi ah (of course not) Eh.. just put it in the beginning or end of sentence. Just fillers 😂

hello, Kambal. 👩‍❤‍👩 nice to know you already know and understand a lot of Filipino words and phrases.. I guess you already know more than 30.. maybe even 50 or more.. keep up the good work. Learn more Tagalog/Filipino words, phrases, expressions and also idioms. Have more Filipino friends and acquaintances and try to do conversations casually in Tagalog. Also watch a lot of Tagalog movies and shows so you can be more accustomed to the language -- pronunciations, usage, etc. By the way, you can always use Taglish or mixed Tagalog and English, that's also normal. I am glad you learned early to use the "po" in your speaking, it means a lot. 😊👍👍

You may just speak Spanish especially when counting and when dealing with money. some Tagalog words that some here surprisingly don't know of: labi (from The Spanish word "labia" which means "lips" also, Labia Minora and Labia Majora) ♀️ if you know what i mean! 😉 puerta (door in Spanish) ♀️if you also know what i mean 😉 pwersa (from the Spanish word "fuerza" which means "force")

1. Po is only in Tagalog. It's equivalent in Spanish is using 'Usted' (I think). 2. You can use Tito and Tita to older people. 3. If you want to use Pesos, you can use it with Spanish number, except Uno/Un. ex. Dos Pesos, Tres Pesos, Quince Pesos. For 1 peso say Piso. 4. Ingat literally means Cuidado. 5. Hindi ko po alam (I don't know.), or Hindi ko po Ma-intindi-han (from Spanish word Entiende), I don't understand. 6. Maraming salamat is Muchas Gracias.
