What I admire most about “Concrete with the Hauses”is the pride they take in their work.

One of the best things about your videos is that you'll show the struggle with things. So many YT make it seem like everything is easy and goes smoothly every time.

Tom, next time you have to change tracks on mini or skid steer, get yourself 2-3 1 1/2 or 2” pipe. Stick it inside on sprocket and use hydraulics and drive track. Will pop off. Works great on skid steers especially.

Tom - check out Track Bar systems. Basically 3 short sections of 1 3/4 pipe or steel bar. Insert them between idler and cog and advance the track - makes life a lot easier - works for Skid Loader as well as excavator

Tom- I retired from a Catapiler dealer and while there I used a 301 on a retaining wall I was building. I threw a track off and of course I didn’t have much for tools with me but I got it back on.

Next time after putting the foam around the posts drive some 6 inch screws into the post letting the screws stick out about 3 or 4 inches or whatever works on each side it will hold the concrete !

Oh LOOK... it came out the same day. I was just suggesting to Gunpowder and Freedom that he ALSO upload the form and pour video on this job... I didn't think I'd make the connection if it hadn't come out for a few weeks or something. Thanks for coordinating that... and for sharing all these creative jobs with us. No, wait.... this isn't the same job with the patio between the house and the carport... I thought I saw that property in the beginning, but this is something else. Still, it's fun to watch what all you can do with concrete.

They are starting to use that fibreglass rebar north of the boarder they just built the bridge in Montreal and 80%of the rear was fiberglass. It’s because of the salt they use in the winter time rusting out the rebar made of steel so now they’re trying the fibreglass to see I guess if it last longer because the bridge they replaced was built in 60s and had to be torn down in 2000 because of the rebar whole patches of cement would fall into the st Lawrence sea because the steel rebar would rust in the cracks of the concrete thus weakening the structure with patching not be the viable replacement to much of the main structure had been patched

The only problem with the grove next to the wood in my experience water concentrates near the wood and over time there is rapid rot there.

I've seen where people change out the tracks and the gear on the drive same time. I seen a Cat little excavator for sale on market place on Facebook. The machine didn't look in bad shape but internally don't know how it was treated. Me I prefer to buy new on most things and get a warranty.

Hiya Tom, always enjoy your videos. Question...why the short fiberglass instead of steel re-bar by the post?
@ConcretewiththehausesАй бұрын
Great question I should’ve answered that better in the video no expansion and contraction with the fiberglass

Just put the bar on top of the idler, lift up and slowly go in reverse, usually pops right off

Just wondering why you don’t use metal post stirrups to lift the wooden posts out of the concrete as we have to here 🇦🇺

Nice video Tom, rebar works great. Really like the colors used on these jobs, and the contrasting borders, they look fantastic. I could never go back to the plain drab grey square concrete. :) Nice tip on the tracks, without knowing that tip it would be a bear to get them off and on. Se ya on the next one ❤💯🙏

I don't know why they don't have a like a threaded rod with a nut welded on the end connected in a way that tighten or loosen by turning the nut. 🤷
