What an amazing person. The world is so full of greedy corporations and people with bad intentions, who's sole purpose is to just make as much money as possible, that having characters like Ton is inspirational. Think of all the people around the world who genuinely cannot afford to even purchase addons yet they can use vanilla Blender. Look at young artists like William Landgren who was too young to earn the kind of money required to buy an 'industry standard' dcc when he started making his amazing creations. Blender is a gift to 3D artists thanks to this man.

Really happy to see you at the blender conference and talking to the guy who planted the seed of Blender. Really looking forward to more Blender related videos in the future and really glad you switched to Blender for the modeling stuff, it's by far one of the best when it comes to poly modeling, if not the best if you add some of the add-ons, and they are also revamping their whole animation system with Animation 2025 and project Baklava, so would love to see you take a look at that and maybe make some videos on it.
@eddiexxАй бұрын
Ton! Please remember we not only animate in Blender. 3D printing and manufacturing is a huge port of the community and we still cant even get the diameter of a circle when in edit mode, after creating a circle forget about about diameter radius. We need some kind of "cad"-like solution, there are germs of it but they are all crude and never updated, never developed. Look at stuff like Plasticity etc. Cheers
@rajendrameena150Ай бұрын
Use geometry nodes for such things.
@rano12321Ай бұрын
Blender is for animation, games etc. Blender also had a game engine before but they removed it because focusing on too many things ultimately lead them to mediocrity at all sectors, so id say if you are doing cad stuff, blender shouldn't be your choice, use something like freecad.

Blender is the way to go, its got insane good now, I started out with Maya which is very expensive for a hobbyist, and tried blender in the early 2000s but it was soo hard to learn compared to Maya, but now its soo much improved at every level. So now I only use Blender. The plugin system and community, blendermarket makes this have unlimited features and easy to use

Been using Blender for nearly ten years, it's finished. AI will replace the need for it in no more than 2 years max and not a moment too soon. There will always be a use for applications like it as a niche creative tool much like a canvas, pallet and paints but as a main driver in digital creativity it's over. Why come here and say something so negative? Well the way I see it, I've spent far too much time sat in-font of a computer screen, trying to wrestle with bugs, dodgy interface issues and waiting for renders, you know the drill. It's bad for you, corrosive in many ways. Trying to bring what are essentially your dreams and stories into reality. If you drill right-down into the fundamentals; anything that allows you to create faster and get to a final result that allows you to experience more time in the (real) world and enjoying it's riches then so be it. I truly think there's going to be a paradigm shift away from digital tools like this in the next few years and towards traditional art and less screen time. I think the developers of Blender, Unreal engine etc. must see the writing on the wall but they're trying to pretend it's not happening.
