I used to buy them all until I noticed they didn't really go up in value. The Perth mint ones especially. So I decided to only get PNC's which feature unique coins you can't get anywhere else (Example : 6:34 Year 2000 Last Anzacs features coin dated 2000 not 1999). Avoid token PNC's - must have a real coin! I do like the royal ones though due to their historical nature. Cheers 👍👍

Totally agree with you. I only get the Perth Mint ones that I enjoy having. I know they are not going to get much value. I’m thinking they will have a purple poppy $2 one soon? Dan

Hi Dan if on a budget what type of coins would you start collecting for potential growth in 20+ years as I’m wanting to start a collection for my son

For 20+ years I would personally collect Perth Mint 1oz silver lunar coins. You will find they will have the best value for the long term. I can’t see coins that go into circulation being that valuable in the very long term as there will not be many collectors to buy them. But precious metals will always be valuable. Hope this helps. Thank you so much for replying. Just quickly I spoke to a gold and bullion shop near me and said they wouldn’t offer more on proof ect. That retail 3x to 5x premiums over bullion price Is that standard ?
