Hey Nick, regarding the clown killi’s I noticed that you have Hydra in that tank (on the glass during the close up camera roll), so it might be all over the tank and plants, if you take a closer look. It’s a pain to get rid off, but I had much more success breeding fish, without the risk of the fry getting hurt or killed by the hydra. Might be worth a try moving the killi’s to a different tank without hydra. Thanks for your great content, love watching your videos. Keep it up!
@konagirlguppies13745 ай бұрын
Can you tell me what number on the video you see the hydra? Just for my knowledge. Thanks
@maximilianklos83605 ай бұрын
Yeah sure! At 34:25 right above the second L in Killi on the glass. With the stringy tentacles
@maximilianklos83605 ай бұрын
I tried many things to get rid of it. What worked for me after all was feeding less and especially no fine powdered foods or baby brine shrimp. That will starve it out

I do love the Neon and Cardinal tetras, but my Glowlight Tetras are SUPER pretty in my home tank! I think all 3 species of the common tetras ate spectacular!!

Always love the tours to see how your shop is growing. The amount and variety is amazing! For me the star of the show is your adorable canine companion. It is so obvious the love your dog has for you. I lost my dog to cancer recently so this just warms my heart.

ive only seen a few of your vids ..having discovered the chanel a few days ago..the way u go out over australia and collect wild fish always makes me think of this one oasis out from Kunnanurra Wa.. fresh waterhole ...very small with a large flatish angled rock in the middle and some boab trees at one side edge... crystal clear watter and millions of tiny super colourful fish i remember bright blue red and silver but only saw them from above ...didnt snorkle. Wonder what they where ..i remember a slim fish about 2.5 cm max. Ps: this was at least 35 years ago

I used your rock pile idea for hillstreams. It worked so well that i have had at least 5 different batches of fry that i can tell so far. I moved the adults to a 40 from a 20 and hopefully they'll do it again for me. They are amazing to watch.
@michaelshaw83704 ай бұрын
Three good examples are. Good mutt guppy’s. Easy to source and mass breed a large number and regularly breeding. Show quality fancy guppy’s ten times the price with smaller percentage of fry reaching a sellable size and standard. Corys bronze, paleatus, or albino cheap and easy to breed. Against sterbai or panda corys again much more expensive to buy with smaller broods and less number of spawns per year. So a couple of breeding groups of each of the common corys will earn more revenue than several tanks of the rare fish. Same for bristlenoses common types even the long fin types will always produce more numbers and higher total revenue that the rare and exotics like peppermints. So many breeders use some of the bread and butter income to subsidise their specialist and rare species breeding programs.

100% up for some tetra breeding, in particular if you bred cardinals I’d be def picking some up off you. I have a school of around 15 and for some reason every year I lose a couple, I think that just happens with cardinals and neons. So some local bred ones I’m guessing may be a little more hardy. But anyway would be super interesting and there’s a lot of really desirable and hard to get tetra that could be worthwhile you having your own breeding stock of.

Regarding Clown Killis, i breed them with one pair and lots floating plants(your set up looks great, but hard to see the fry), they stay near the surface), the adults don’t eat their fry, but the fry will eat their younger siblings. For best yield remove the fry once they get stripes and keep them with similar sized fish. If you keep the fry you’ll most likely end up with just a few fry until they are fully grown up. Fry grows ridiculously slow (think more like rainbow than killi).
