$300 Dollar Suzuki Sidekick UTV ? vs $20,000 RZR Turbo SXS

We go on an adventure today @ Swiftoutdoors property to see if our Budget Power Sidekick can hang with the big dogs. As seen in earlier episodes our sidekick is mostly stock with a cheap 2 inch puck lift that was 89 dollars . A pair Jeep Wrangler YJ shocks we got of amazon for 15 bucks and a used set of 31 inch Mud Terrains for $150 off FB market place.

Serious boogers and a set of lockers would go a long ways in that suzi. Put a body lift in for $150 and a decent suspension lift for $1000, lock rites front and rear for $600 and some 33" Boogers for $1200 and that suzuki wouldn't need any help. The question is, what if you put $20k into a Suzuki? And then run it against the RZR. That would give you an incredible suspension, gear change, trail tough transfer, 35s and one hell of a turbo'ed motor that would easily match that 160hp. And then you could drive it to work every day.

"Budget" but in all fairness it was completely crap out, frozen then thawed out during this. So frozen underneath with layer of slick mud.

I would suggest 1994 Isuzu Amigo 2.6 4cyl 4WD as a better platform of a low $$ side by side alternative.

owned two of these in the late 90's, one auto, one manual. The auto was the way to go for off road. They are not the fastest things, but changing the exhaust and opening up the intake helps a lot. These things do need lockers though to compete with a sxs, because pretty much all sxs have locked rear diffs from the factory. Around here, you can't find a tracker or sidekick if your life depended on it. I search CR and FBMP weekly and there is never a two door soft or hardtop on there. What is weird, is normally you can drive around and spot jeeps, pt cruisers, vw beetles and the like rotting in backyards. But if you want a cherokee, or a tracker/sidekick, don't go to Idaho looking, they don't exist and if they do, people want an arm and a leg for them.

That scene where the SXS is drifting around the sidekick got you my thumbs up, lol. Thats actually pretty good. I wanted to get a 1.6 for my samurai but then I started thinking that if I bought a sidekick for a donor I would have a problem dismantling something that works. I just don't like doing that so I think Im going to build a sidekick.

@@danieljenks1693 I just bought a Sidekick, (white with new white soft top that I am putting on this week) with no rust, from an owner in Texas. Came with new tires and spare and runs great too. It's got 200,000 miles on it. Just today I put in a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, timing belt and tensioner pully, new fan/alternator belt and power steering belt and new oil change. The seller wanted $3,975 for it last week and I talked him down to $2,800. Gonna use it to pull my portable bandsaw lumber mill around through the woods and drag logs out of the woods with it too. Barbed wire fencing also, and just plain ol' 4 wheeling fun.. A perfect machine for all that stuff.

That Suzuki just probably needed new tires. Probably bald. Lower the pressure. I had one of these, 5 speed manual trans, with locking hubs. Mine would have never gotten stuck.

Switch drivers half way through the video to see how well the RZR handles the 600 lb dude. Oh, and at least try to setup the ZUK a little bit correctly, tires can't even spin with the sheet metal sittin on them.

Razors are awesome, however ... Crap tires? ... Carrying 2 big dudes? ... Novice (displayed) driver? ... No kidding it didn't keep up! ... and the music was fairly harsh ... 🎹😖 That said, compare prices between Razors & old Zukes. Take a bit less than ½ the $ difference and put it into mods for that Sidekick. You end up with a street legal quad that's warmer in the winter & rain. Cool, fun vid guys. Looked like y'all had 💩loads of fun out there. That's ultimate👍👍

You forgot the most important part of the Suzuki Sidekick not I repeat not a pansy-ass shity rubber belt the Zuker as a real working tranny and transfer case so when the pushlaris dead on the trail because of its burnt-out belt Zuker will be able to tow it back to the shop

Yea, those things are junk. I dont care how much you spend. They dont have ground clearance, no flex, most I have seen have leaf springs, hp to weight ratio is pathetic. We had one run with us at hatfield mccoys. It was a total dog. Broke down, got stuck between gears and flipped in a simple off camber trail that rest of use just drove thru. Fun video tho.
