AA1680 is your powder of choice for 120gr and lighter bullets.. CFE-BLK and 1680 are about a wash with 125s. CFE-BLK is better for 130gr and above, and AA1680 for 120 and below. Bill Wilson said you can't get enough CFE-BLK in the case with light bullets to overpressure it.

Yeah, I have 1680 just haven't loaded it with this bullet yet...but I will! Tks for the comments.

@@Hazzbro1964 Since my above post, Bill posted on the texas hunting forum that 1680 and CFE-BLK are exactly the same powder, the latter just has the copper fouling additive. That surprised me. I guess it changes the burn rate some.

@ Yeah, I’ve found them to be very similar. Shooters World Blackout is also a decent option. Tks for the comments!

When your only tool is a HAMR everything looks like a nail.

I wonder how many grains you could get from s 350 legend case with a 308 bullet. Def not cost effective tho.

According to a couple sites the Ham’r case capacity is 29.6 grains while the 350 is 36.5 grains. Sizing the 350 neck down to 308 would not affect case capacity much on typical bullet seating depth” I would think. Would be a fun wildcat I think if the bolt could handle it.
