I love this caliber, and brass forming is a pleasure. My method: Using a 300 HAM'R jig mounted in a HF chop saw, I cut off most of the neck (for very minimal trimming later). This step reduces split necks when forming/resizing. Lubricate, deprime, and form brass. Give it a ⅓ turn and form again. Swage. Remove lub, trim to 1.595" with 300 Blackout Little Crow trimmer, champher/debur, clean flash hole, primer pocket clean, and uniform. Check with guages. Done.

*Thank you for the 'brass re-formation video'. Those are much easier than 25-06 or 270 Win to 7x57 Mauser. Proper annealing can help. A BARN DWELLER shortcut that "sometimes works" while skipping or avoiding annealing is : "WARM UP THE BRASS" in front of the 'milk house heater'... "as hot as human hands can tolerate to handle" and lube it with Imperial Sizing Wax. The 'somewhat warmer brass' forms more easily. The Imperial Sizing Wax is somewhat slicker and stays in place really well , even when 'very warm'. IF we over-wax, use excessive amount of lube, or coat with lube 'too thickly' ... AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW, we will very likely get wrinkles or 'hydraulic dents' in the shoulders and case walls. COLD BRASS &/or 'not properly annealed brass'... is more likely to wrinkle, crush, or split.*

instead of fabricating a case length gauge/arbor from a 308, why not just use the one for the 30 herrett and shorten the pin 2 hundredth with a file

That is a great idea but I had two 308 arbors on hand so I used what I already had
