yeah, he needs to practice it.. cant shoot like that and expect good results. Trigger pull is the most importaint factor in group shooting after proper rest (wich also is lacking). As we say in sweden "skit in, skit ut" "poo input, poo output".. If you practice proper shooting basics you get better results.

I’m headed to the gun shop today to get a Spuhr mount for my exact gun. I’ve been having the same issues with scope movement. Throwing money down range gets old. I’ve abandoned US869 for H1000 and am getting better results until my scope moved again. Great vid. Keep it up!
@RobsReloading3 жыл бұрын
Yeah im wondering if a bulkier mount is going to be needed. If we had any h1000 or could find it we would use that. Currently this is one of the few extremely slow powders we have.

@@RobsReloading I have tried reloader 25 with interesting results. I’m shooting 220 Sierra match kings. That’s all I can find. Retumbo wasn’t as good as H1000, at least with the lighter projectiles that I’m using. But I’m thinking that all my odd groupings were a result of something moving.
@RobsReloading3 жыл бұрын
@@rickbremmer3838 we may play around with some light projectiles with some of the faster stick powders like h4831sc or imr 7977. Any experience with any of those?

@@RobsReloading no I haven’t, reading on line, there’s plenty guys that use 215 Berger’s with n565 and RS80 powders which I can’t get either. I’m thinking 4183 might be to fast. I was contemplating h4350 but found enough h1000 to play with for a while. Projectiles are the difficult part. $100 a box for 220 smk is ridiculous.

The third shot that was a flyer was because the barrel, or handguard, impacted the wooden thing infront of the bag (right before @01:35). You can se wood or dust after the shot... Compare the 2 first shots where there was no touching.

Same happens in other shots.. so get your rest proper. This is common occurance with rifle sling studs, getting snagged on bags etc.

@@jmkhenka I tried to monitor it while shooting, and did not see it touch in person. Maybe it's the angle. May pull the pic rail next time to be sure. This rifle has a much longer rail than my others and may need to raise the front bag.

I'm getting 2870 fps from my 300 prc using 76gr h1k and Sierra 230s from lapua brass. May want to go bigger on the rings with 6 screws instead of 4 or maybe lap them. I had an old 300wm that use to tear up scopes until I went with burris XTRs.

Shooting my 300 Norma Magnum with 250 gn A-Tip in 2979 f/s in a Bartlein barrel 30" and 8" twist 1/2 MOA with N 570 powder at 100 meter. I don't recognize your Powder. I live in Sweden so it is unknown to me. We don't have so many sorts of Powder to choose of. But we have Vihtavuori and Norma.

That thing is a beast! More case capacity than Win Mag, Weatherby, and PRC and so light... Any reason you're loading them a little shorter than the 1.680" spec? Still no LRM primers, I see.
@RobsReloading3 жыл бұрын
No specific reason, the gun is still new to us and obviously new to reloading norma. Just trying to get some numbers with loads and get a feel for the gun. As time passes hopefully will will be able to play with some more powders, Coal etc. Gun is a powder burner and components are expensive. Hopefully we will learn the gun and the reloading process and components as time passes.

I have a 338 Lapua Magnum that I reload Retumbo or H1000 for. Those powders are currently almost non existent, I see that you have several videos using US869. Do you feel that is clean and accurate powder for the 338 Lapua? US869 is very easy to come by these days? N570, RE26, RE33 are also non existent.
@RobsReloading2 жыл бұрын
No we are using 869 purely because we were able to find it. I would use retumnbo, h1000 or probably r26 if I had some

@@RobsReloading By reading your comments from several of your videos you are not a big fan of ball powders for rifles. And by this quote you are not a fan of US869. Since Retumbo, H1000, RL26 etc are as scarce as unobtanium is have you tried Ramshot Magnum? It is a ball powder as well. US869 is dirty, not very temp stable, and accuracy sucks.

Loc tite is your friend brother... I know some scope companies say don't use it just torque the rings down to their specifications but I've had to many scopes come loose while I was in the field to believe it... Great video as always keepem coming!!!
@RobsReloading3 жыл бұрын
I use blue locktite on all scope rings and bases. I know companies sometimes reccomend against because it changes the measured torque, but the piece of mind helps. This is the only rifle that I have really had any issue with. I'm assuming it's the fast recoil impulse due to weight of the gun/optic.
@DanielBoone3373 жыл бұрын
@@RobsReloading that makes sense also... Every time I've ever seen any of my optics come loose or other people's it's almost always been from not using loc tite or people shooting in a lead sled... I'm the same way though whether you're supposed to or not loc tite gives me peace of mind... LOL Take care brother!!!
