I ordered this last year, put down a 1G NRD and waited. After the "oohs and aahs" wore off, reality set in and I decided this was way too big, way too heavy (330 pounds) and way too expensive an investment, with shipping alone being 652 bucks! So I canceled. No question it looks amazing, but I'm not going to keep replacing almost 40 batteries just to keep the light affects going. This definitely needed to be powered from a central source with an AC adapter and one easily accessible switch to turn everything on and off at once. I would have paid for a massive hunk of heavy unseen rock under that awsome paint job. Hollow it out and it still looks the same and saves everyone money on shipping, and back issues trying to lift it and move it around. Let alone the space and fortified display stand needed to show it off to no one that really would have cared except for me. New rule for me, if it's over 50 lbs, I pass. Gotta draw the line somewhere. Great review Mr. X, as always hits all the marks! Definitely poor QC missing that blemish in full view on the chest! Come on XM, for the money you need to catch that before shipping it out! Anyway, too all that stuck with the purchase enjoy the piece and remember to bend those knees when lifting! Peace!

There is no doubt that this Maestro statue has set the bar high on how incredible looking concept it is. So it's definitely going to be hard to beat going into the new year as the most impressive sculpt. Bravo to XM studios for putting it all out there and congrats on getting it. Unfortunately for me I don't have the funds nor the space for something of that magnitude. Thank you for sharing it with us. Love how it all turned out.

Your intro alone was worth the watch. Definitely one of the best statues I ever saw in my years of collecting. Its a huge chunk of cash but if you did a top 10 X-Factor Statues (which is a video I'd like to see) I think this statue would probably be #1. P1 Jungle Hunter Predator and Imaginarium Devastator would probably get the Silver and Bronze Medals.

Wow. Looks fantastic! 1) With the cost I would 100% demand a replacement body for Maestro. 2) If you’re going to buy this absolute monster of a statue, you have to display it correctly! So yeah, the rotating bottom base is a MUST! Hopefully you’ll figure out some way to make that happen! 3) Oh lord those battery powered light up features… 😅 Other than those nitpicks, absolutely fu**in amazing!

Value is always tough for these. Once you get to a certain price point people just can’t afford it. My analogy would be 1 million dollar Ferrari being sold for $500k is a great deal, but most people still can’t afford it.

Hulk - “Knock, knock!” Maestro - “Who’s there?” Banner! It’s banner a really major huge 1/4 scale unbox piece, hasn’t it X. It is so 5 out of 5. Too bad it could’ve been a USB or adapter plug in like my Unicron or PCS M. Bison 1/3 with connectors and ports between the base and trophy sets on this piece but with that turntable and battery packs, more money to spend to replace the batteries. And Maestro congrats 👏

This is pretty cool, really like the Sentinel eyes although it's on the back. Peter David was one of my favourite writers; he did Spider-Man 2099 and one of the definitive Hulk runs. Maestro was a bit niche but cool. Has been ages since I read it, need to again sometime.

I got mine from Ben too. He’s the fastest shipping around. You really need to add the additional base. It looks silly and unkept because the side ledges are just floating about without it. Plus you’re omitting one of the coolest features…the turntable. Oh, and mine didn’t have that QC issue either.

Because I’m a fan of the hobby I would probably do version A due to the sheer size of this beast. I agree with you the light up makes no sense and the intended loss of value because like you said you would never be able to sell this piece and at least break even. So you have to be an extreme fan to invest!

I had to pass this up. 😢 😭 not enough space or enough cash. I got to see it in person in Art statue collectors gallery and in person it just blows everything else out of the water. If I could go back in time, I think this piece and my custom Wolverine would be the only two statues I need for Marvel pieces. The Maestro storyline is amazing. Great pick up.

You’re right on price. Selling it later if you need the space will be difficult because of shipping. I have a question that I believe you maybe able to answer. I see you get custom statues, I’ve seen a couple that caught my interest. Are they valuable/sellable on the second market if one day I want to sell it? And where is the best place or places to find/buy these unlicensed custom statues? I’m a big fan of thrown statues and figures as well!

Custom Statues are a tricky one. NOTHING is good on the secondary market currently but during a normal economy, traditionally custom statues gained value faster than licensed, however you had a smaller pool of buyers so it may take longer to move it.

Jesus thank god that necklace can be used for a cover up, beyond that Epic statue, I've only read bits and pieces of the story line, maybe you could add affiliate amazon links for omnibus or maybe a link to the slabbed comic you show with it. I'm going to go watch that old custom you showed at start, looks epic and lol probably a lil easier to display. It’s a really cool piece, the one nitpick I have is I wish all the additional pieces fitted to the base better, I don’t like proximity pieces that you can just place wherever, it gives the appearance of just pieces you’ve added yourself. The base being round and all the proximity pieces being rectangle don’t look right, I wish the base was squared so the pieces fitted together better.
