the trick is the “faster” speed on the theragun does not equal “harder” more intense massage.. by speeding up the oscillations per minute it actually causes less downward force when massaging.. the vibration almost makes ir float across your muscle. having in level 1 hurts the worst. thats a full stroke of the shaft via the motor and you feel it thats for sure vs several thousand fast oscillations which make it feel like less of a deep “thump”.

I also didn't buy into the Theragun inflated price tag. I bought a Hypervolt clone off amazon & it was very good but after a couple of months it developed a rattle that made it louder. 8 months on & the battery is dead & won't charge. Went today to the shops & they had a Theragun Prime. It felt like it was a lot better quality & more robust! As soon as I turned it on I could feel the brushless motor was a lot better. I'll definitely be getting one soon. I think this is one of those instances of "you get what you pay for"....at least in my case.

How has the cheaper gun held up over time?

Hi since no one is asking, I will, your not keeping the theragun right, cause it will gather dust, so how are you going to get rid of it, are you going to sell it second hand, cause you can't give it back for a refund it's used, and it's not faulty right, just curious what the outcome will be?

I ended up getting something cheaper too, in the middle price range. I feel the same about having a lower intensity option too as the 1st of the 5 speeds.

Thanks sir! I was about to pull the trigger on the Prime today. Black Friday deal is $250 but even that seems a bit steep and seeing how loud it is...just doesn't seem worth it. Still looking at the Sportneer some more. Also thought about those HyperIce ones but apparently they aren't that good and develop issues.

Appreciate the vid, but do a video 2 years from now and tell me which one is still working. It's been my experience the Made in China stuff is ok out of the box some times, but skims on things you don't notice until later when they fail, like electronics and battery. Buy nice or buy twice.

I agree that the price of these so-called higher end massage guns are over priced. I've been looking for a cordless massage gun to keep in my truck so I can give myself a neck and shoulder massage before and/or after work. I just bought a mint condition Theragun Prime for $130 that looks new but even at that price I think it's a fair deal. Hopefully it will do the job and last a while.

You are taking a huge risk with these knockoffs, which are essentially the same design as the hyperice which is also 300$. The hyperice doesn’t compare to the theragun in my opinion. If y ou are researching these, go with the original and best. What was not covered are the specs, which he failed to mention, like frequencies, and travel distance of the heads, these cheap knockoffs do not compare, and longevity will be a factor.

I was able to fashion my own theragun out of a 30$ jigsaw and 10$ for an assorted set of attachment heads and it is _still_ going strong to this very day. Would highly recommend if you're on a budget!
@NikephorosPhokas2 жыл бұрын
A jigsaw is way too powerful - it rattles your bones. You don’t know what you’re talking about. My bro did that(modified a jigsaw) and it doesn’t compare to a Theragun. It’s too much so no one wants to use it.

Hey! thanks for the video! What do you think about selling the a massager without a way of using it while connected to the power supply? I'd like to buy the Theragun Pro but the fact that knowing that in the future eventually the battery will die, it makes me doubt about purchasing it, because they can decide to stop selling you a battery, and we would have to buy a newer model of it. Thoughts?

I have two guns. The theragun and a much cheaper one. My vision on this? In pretty short: Only the theragun can work on deeper/dense muscles like the glutes, quads and lower back. But for nearly all other muscles the cheaper one suffices more than enough. The handle of the theragun is a huge pro though, but I would still prefer another cheaper one, as they seem to go faster, thus heating the muscle more.
@crazybutter85542 жыл бұрын
Oh and yes, I want to add: for bodybuilders of size the theragun would be a better choice.
