Enjoyed the video- thanks. I'm sure you already know this, but K-Line produced a highly detailed, scale Hudson model w/ TMCC that will (I believe) run on O-31 curves. That would be an interesting comparison with the two you have!

I REALLY love the comparison between scale and semi-scale presented here. I happen to love semi-scale trains because they run on O27 track and look great with so much of the postwar Lionel equipment. This video is great because it empowers us with the knowledge to make an informed choice!

Worth mentioning this only applies to new items, when buying used you can save significantly. Many models like the Lionchief hudson have been produced several times before, so you can find an earlier generation of it for significantly less, and it might even be superior in some aspects. So the $300 engine can be a $150 engine, and the $1300 could be a $200, give or take.

Many don’t care about separate applied details. They are only something that breaks off and makes handling engine difficult. Even $300 is to much, $1300 not even a consideration. Generally as others mentioned scale is too big with 027. Let’s be real, trains running around on’s layout is the objective regardless of cost and scale details or not. You said it all in the word “functionality”.😊😊 A good presentation showing two differing examples.

Plus you can always apply detail yourself with 3d printing or traditional methods if you want and save money.

Sam,you must find 3 feet 7x8 allows you to run anything Did you steal that Hudson from Matty C?😄 Great video

Haha no I did not actually. This train would of ran through a local town of mine so I had to buy the custom run!

@@samsogaugetrains8670 I thought you were from long Island The Hudson is a beautiful engine Just a classic.you must expand your table.I see you have the scale virus If you can't expand, consider MTH imperial line Finely detailed, semi scale
