I'm too old and crippled to ride anymore; I owned my last cycle in the 80's. But I'd snap up one of these new Cubs in a heartbeat if I could ride it; I rode my first one extensively in the sixties. Green with envy and best wishes from the Texas Gulf Coast!

Didn't have to add oil but I did do an oil change half way through the trip in South Australia. I ride with a full face helmet & at the speed the little Honda goes that works fine plus it's hot & the wind helps keep me cool. Good fun. Cheers Jeff

Don't know why.. but reminds me of Oklahoma... Your bike is a Cross Cub?? Wishing we could get those here.. In The meantime..I'll ride my Yamaha TW 200
@Jeff4fun2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim. So many variations of the Honda Cub. My one is a NBC110 used by Australia Post. Much the same as the Cross Cub. I love riding it but I am also looking for another larger bike to add to my collection. That seems the way with bikes :-) Cheers Jeff

@@Jeff4fun try out a Yamaha TW 200.. I really like mine.. they've been building them for something like 35 years.. for your riding and terrain.. I'd probably be perfect for you.. But I'd definitely keep the cub.

Thanks, great video. Just curious, what does a new 110/125 cub cost in Australia these days?
@Jeff4fun2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Beverly, glad you liked it. A new 125 costs about $8000 which is a bit expensive in my view & I think if I was looking for a new bike in that price range I'd probably get a Himalayan. My one is an ex Australia Post bike. Cheers Jeff

What preparation did you do to the bike for the trip and any tips that you recommend about how to ride/treat the bike on long trips??
@Jeff4fun2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sophie there is a video on my channel showing my prep work. Basically new tyres, battery, drive chain & oil. Previously I changed the cam chain. I rode mostly full throttle in 4th. At the end of most days I adjusted the drive chain & lubed it every day. I checked the oil every day & changed it once. Normally I change it every 1000kms. The little bike was great. Cheers Jeff

Good day to you! This is great adventure video by Cub and you !! Awesome!! I have a question! Do you have any extra fuel tank for Cub? Cause you run about so so long distance . Cub tank capacity is not enough!!
@Jeff4fun2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes I have fitted an extra fuel tank that gravity feed into main tank. I have a video of fitting it on my channel. I have over 9 liters so can easily get over 300km between filling. Cheers Jeff

My original planned route would have one section further than 300km between fuel & I was carrying a container for an extra 5 liters. Didn't end up needing that. Navigation wise I knew where to go plus I had my phone with Google maps & paper maps. Cheers Jeff

I want to do exactly what you do with my honda super cub 110 from Perth to Exmouth. Some people told me it can be very dengerous because of the Camper van and trucks, and also because of kangaroos. Any opinion?
@Jeff4fun Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, your planned trip sounds great. Riding a more powerful bike would mean that you are traveling at the same speed as the other traffic but greater chance of a roo encounter. I found most vehicles were able to overtake quickly & gave me room. I had one roo jump out in front of me ( didn't have the camera on) but as I was riding slower I was able to miss it. I reckon keep an eye on the traffic & enjoy the adventure. Cheers Jeff
@marceltromp1454 Жыл бұрын
Which vid is about you mounting an extra fuel tank ?
@Jeff4fun Жыл бұрын
The first 2 videos on my channel. My Postie bike is fuel injected so the extra tank gravity feeds into the main tank. I originally used a XR250 tank but it was too old & leaked so I fitted a pit bike tank.
