The big merit on this build is on the engine type. It is a Pumpe Duse one, which is the nicest ever diesel engine, extremely punchy even from low down, revs like crazy and it is very tunable. Had a jetta mk5 with a 2.0 tdi 140 hp and dsg and you wouldn't say it is anything special, until you put your foot down. It was an animal for only 140 horses and 320nm. Loved it to bits.

@@michelangeloboldri9893 jtd being a common rail isn't as violent as the pumpe duse one, since the injection on the pumpe duse reaches the highest pressures and the actual spray is done and compressed in the injector directly, so you get the best and fastest response. I know the jtd is a nice diesel, but you need to try a PD tuned.

@@michelangeloboldri9893 No. Before the common rail engines, VW has used Pumpe Duse injection. The reason for switching to common rail was to meet better emission standards, but performance wise there has been a regression from the 140HP 320NM 2.0TDI pumpe duse to the same 140HP and 320NM 2.0 TDI common rail version. Passat B6 owners have told this, I have tried both and it is true, the pumpe duse engine feels more urgent, stronger, faster in response and it is explosive in low down torque like no other engine I've driven. The common rail version is like the JTD, revs very fast but it is more linear in power delivery, feels more like a turbo petrol than a diesel. If you dyno both engines, you get the same power and torque, so difference is in the way it delivers those numbers, because of the special pumpe duse injection

I have not driven a Hyper car nor a super car. My dad had a 308 Dino that was fun and I have a 1960 F100 with about 250hp. A small light car with 300hp is hilarious, unpretentious, reasonably cheap and puts smiles on everyone's faces even the guys driving the expensive things.

Here in Portugal is very very normal to see 1.9 TDI builds like this one, they have a affordable price for normal people and defenitely are amazing power machines. If its the ALH version- this is the best Vw engine ever built- aroung 1998-2004 (it has different versions of power 90 bhp, 110, 130, 150- the engine block is the same)..I think it also has 'chain distribution" so its not just a belt.. I wanted to buy a Passat with this engine a few years back, but they all have many many miles onboard (more than 500k km)

The AVF version (commonly found in the Passat B5 and the Audi A4 from late 2000 to around 2005) is a very good engine as well. Very durable compared to the earlier PD engines.

It´s called "rolling coal" Here in portugal we have the best tunner´s in the world regarding those engines, having a tuned ibiza its like having an holy grail, they are everywhere, but unfortunately our government does not support this kind of "ilegal" modifications so it´s a constant battle between the owners and the police enforcement, many of these drivers even end up losing their car´s. Although i also had one back in the day, for OBVIOUSLY reasons 🤠

at 11:54 he had 220kmh at 4200 RPM, max Should be somewhere around 240-245kmh, because of rev limiter at 4900, but remember its not gps speedo, so in reality its 2-10 less. Still this is insane Caddy, very funny i want to drive that.

Don’t forget the Bhp that you can mine from a standard 19 common rail 560 bhp is achievable but very risky . 350 to 370 is about right but your going to go through gearbox casings .
