I gotta make this short. In the early 90’s my dad had a 17.5 ft javlin, 150 evenrude with 175 carbs. Big boat in the early 90’s. Run 76-77 mph spent a lot of time messing with manual jack plate and props. Smoking folks in the red man series, guy says “you cant catch a fish running 75 mph,” my dad said says “no sir, cant catch one running 35 either” my dad became a savage that day!!!

Trust me i'm very aware of that. I live on a river and it drives me BANANAS when guys do that. This is a tournament right after ice off here so nobody had been at there camps yet. There was no boats at anybody's camps/docks so we drove at the exact speed limit.

Bradley Russell not many stumps in 70 feet of water bud. We do this to get my bow down so I can see better. Bit safer when you can see infront. The boat to my left was in the wrong and he apologized for it after the tournament. He lined up on the left and went right and cut infront of everyone. I was going straight.

But why were you at half plane if you were in that deep of water. Looks like your partner was looking for hazards. That's just plain dangerous, you could drop off throttle and throw him overboard. You would get a ticket here in KY. But, your boat, your partner. Lol
