I watched the previous video with the fix for the paper pick up problem (same printer). I cleaned all the rollers and it still doesn't pick up. I basically have minimum knowledge about electronics but can follow along to help myself so I watched this video hoping that there was some kind of sensor issue that I could fix with a look inside the printer itself but unfortunately you didn't touch on that in this video. Is there any way you can help me? There are no service centers anywhere near me

The worst case can be that the roller gears are broken. It is extremely hard to replace that assembly and even harder to find that part. Do the rollers spin?

I have a 'machine gun' noise when the computer starts and the carriage slides all the way to the right as it starts to print. It then prints ok (until the next time it starts a print cycle). It seems to load the paper ok. almost sounds like gear slipping? Loud sound.

When you say "clean" the printer, what and how are you suppose to clean? I am all of a sudden getting a message of "incompatible cartridge" and also paper jambs sometimes.
@303electronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi. If you are getting an "incompatible ink cartridge" error, check the cartridge to make sure it is the correct one and clean golden contacts on the ink and inside printer. When I say "clean" the printer, I mean that the inside if the printer will accumulate ink and paper dust, which may cause errors and functionality problems.

@@303electronics I have the correct cartridge because it was working before. Clean the gold contacts with what (que tip and alcohol - vodka) or do I clean with water. I mention the vodka not to be funny but that is the only "alcohol" I have on hand. Thanks in Advance for the reply. The bottom side of the cartridge, does that have to be cleaned too, would that be cleaned with alcohol or water?

@@tommak6516 water or alcohol works
@tommak65163 жыл бұрын
@@303electronics Thank you so much, I cleaned the cartridge like you said and things are working again. I did use the vodka. Also I blew the printer out with a little compressed air from one of those aerosol air cans (I had a little left in the can from a previous use).

Um...I started taking it apart, along with you, but now I'm not sure I can get it back together!
@303electronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi. This printer shouldn't be too complicated to put back together. I usually recommend taking pictures of steps so you can put it back together easier, but I missed this tip in the video and I'm sorry about that.

Hello. you maybe you can help me. I have the same F4400 printer and all the flashing lights 7, could not turn off the device just disconnecting it from the power. what I need to check. thank you.
@303electronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Ty removing ink cartridges and check the contact area of the ink carrier to be clean of any moisture/ink. If flashing stops, insert one cartridge, then see if flashing comes back, then insert the second cartridge.

I think I'm a little more brutal when I take them apart. Taken apart about 40 the past 2 weeks. Got about another 40 to go. Then I will be done with the HPs.

@@alainkuntz Probably what I will do too. They make these things to break after a while I think. I may get a laser printer next time. Try my luck with that.
@alainkuntz Жыл бұрын
@@tommak6516 Hi Tom, You're right, buy another one ! First the machine is not easy to disassemble (I broke some parts 🤢), the noise comes from gears that help to feed the paper, located in an almost inaccessible place, you have to disassemble all the machine in order to extract these gears. And in addition to that, if you don't take pics before each step, you won't be able to reassemble the all. Such machines are just built to fuck the nature. Good luck ! Alain

@@alainkuntz Thanks for the response and info, Before the rat tat tat tat problem (which just started) I was using third party ink cartridges and started getting all kinds of error messages that would have to be cleared from the HP. It was very infuriating. So to get a round expensive ink cartridges, that do not seem to last that long, I was thinking of getting a laser printer. Toner cartridges are expensive too, but you can buy toner cheap and refill them (from what i see on internet). So I see a Cannon MF3010VP for $130. It is all in one (copy/scan/print) which is what I need. Only prints black and white, but that is all I print anyway. Not wireless, but the HP F4480 I have now is not wireless either. The Cannon comes with toner cartridges so nothing extra to buy. Bottomline for $130 it is not worth trying to fix the 13 year old HP, and now that you advise how hard it is I am really convinced to buy new. I do not even have the special screwdriver to take the top off. I am the type that usually fixes stuff, but not to the point of being a martyr (ha, ha). What kind of replacement printer did you buy?
