Marcus King will be known as one of the greatest to ever do it. The guy can do it all at the highest level. He and his band are absolutely killer live. His original tunes span southern rock, blues, country, funk, jazz and soul. He also has a power trio in the same vein as SRV and Hendrix. His covers range from Marvin Gaye to Waylon Jennings to Black Sabbath to Jimmy Cliff to Bobby Womack to Crowded House to the three Kings. He’s played the Grand Ole Opry, he just played with Phil Lesh from the Grateful Dead and this week he’s playing with Zac Brown at the CMA’s. The man is a chameleon of insane, mind-blowing talent. I saw him in a small bar about 5 years ago and could not believe what I was witnessing - his guitar playing was like Zappa meets SRV meets Hendrix meets Duane/Derek Trucks and his vocals were like Gregg Allman meets Janis Joplin. This is all in one person. Can’t wait to see where this guy goes in the next few years - been really cool to see him rise up the ranks. Only a matter of time before he’s a household name as THE real artist / musician out there. Would love to see more reactions - check out his stuff at Carter’s Vintage Guitar or Jam in the Van (which is a few years old but still totally killer). You’ve got a new subscriber here.

It’s Not a bigsby it’s a Gibson sideways vibrola (it’s on there but is disconnected because they’re notorious for not staying in tune. The guitar is a Gibson ES 345. Marcus is a beast!!! Even better live onstage with his band!!
