Inside and out the Genesis GV70 looks stunning and reminds me of what a true luxury product should look like. The Germans have completely lost the plot chasing Tesla and going tech overload. I would take the Genesis GV70 over any offering in its class. Right now the biggest issue I foresee for Genesis is they made the mistake of going all in on EVs before having a top trim petrol engine to compete with the M and AMG brands V8. Genesis is also seeing some high price creep of the past few years since inception. I think they can be a truly great brand as long as they address these two issues. I really have nothing negative to say about Genesis currently as my parents have owned many luxury product and they have gone from Mercedes to now owning two Genesis products and absolutely loving them. They make stunning luxury products.

Genesis has a V8 engine. There is a 2019 G90 5.0 model. It is a naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 420 horsepower. However, the engine is no longer used due to environmental regulations.

The gv70 digital dash is not kinda like 3D, it is 3D and it looks very cool. Although you can turn the 3D off. My genesis dealer gave me one as a loaner and damn it made me want to buy an suv lol. Thing is great.

Test drove both. Love the looks of both and actually went shopping for a Genesis first. Both were used. 2022 models. The Merc had the V6 that year. Loved it and went to find one in the color and spec I liked. It is expensive to maintain, but I have no regerts yet

I love by GV70 Sport Prestige. I have had it for 3 years now and still in love with it. You just cannot beat the value and price you get with a Genesis. It just looks better than the competition without nickeling and diming you.

@ The only luxury German car that comes close to a Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige specs wise and price is a BMW X3 M50 xDrive which is 2K more than the Genesis but has a cheap looking interior and materials. Other than that, Audi and Mercedes vehicles that are comparable are easily 10K more and that is only optioning the cheapest specs you can. And Porsche is obviously the most expensive. And German cars aren’t anymore reliable or cheaper in repairs than a Genesis either.

had a couple GLC models when servicing my E53's over the years and I would never buy one. Compared to my E class, they are very squeaky and have lots of rattles, I had a GLC43, and a GLC300 each time, and definitely not the build quality of an E class. I would say Mercedes must be aware of it, and does nothing to correct it in terms of padding or other methods in the factory to get rid of the squeaks and rattles, they just dont care I guess... looked at a GV70, I thought it was nice but doenst have the headroom I need.. was ok just not quite enough.

The interior on the Mercedes is grotesque! The Genesis looks simple, artistic and elegant. The exterior is subjective, but you can tell designers spent a lot more time and effort with the GV70 than the GLC. A shame Genesis toned down a few things with the 2025 facelift, and the interior took a turn for the worse...

I rented a Mercedes 300 for 10 days. The interior center console complete blows!!! The electronic buttons are horrible, didn’t work most of the time. The seats sucked. It was solid structure a d could be great but overall it was uncomfortable and sucked ass.

Remember that 4cyl is handmade by AMG. It’s a true amg engine from the ground up. Imo, it’s okay in a 43 but we might agree that the 63 should at least be a v6 or inline 6 or even better, a v8

I test drove gv70 3.5T a few month ago, it feels very firm/bumpy on any cracks at freeway. Plus the steering is firm; car start/stop very aggressive even on comfort. When you said the suspension is soft, is feels a bit strange, is there any adjustable setting can changes it to soft and gentle on this car?

Just drove a loaner 2024 C-class car and the interior quality wasn't as nice as my 2021 GLC 43 AMG with the V-6. I do like the 295 rear tires of this new GLC and some of the minor exterior changes.

Some might consider shorts, ankle socks, a T-shirt and a sleeveless coat a possible identity crisis.. Nice watch by the way. All of that money for the GLC and they reward you with a Geo Metro rear climate console👌. I also don’t at all like the GLC interior selection. They have some much better choices that work for me. That alcantra wheel material will look nasty in a couple years. I’m 1000% on board with the GV70 interior color choices and feel. They CONTINUE to skimp on the door trim. That dark chrome trim oxidizes on all of the Kia and Genesis vehicles that I’ve seen. Hopefully Genesis will include HDA2, wireless CarPlay and a rear view camera in the updated model. It’s past time. Are you sure the GV70 doesn’t allow manual shifting? Those brakes definitely leave a bit to be desired. The GV70 isn’t as dynamically sound at the limits as a GLC43 or an X3M for sure. Since almost nobody tracks their luxury SUVs my pocket wouldn’t open up an additional $30K for the extra money to purchase the MB. The brand doesn’t do anything functional for me so that doesn’t factor into the equation at all. Thanks for the thorough and entertaining video 🤙

Wow...Bias much? In the first 3 minutes I can already see your bias...While the Hyundai, I mean Genesis is a nice looking car and it has some nice tech, it's just a Hyundai! And there is a huge stigma on the Hyundai and Kia with metal fatigue for all the cast metal parts like transmissions, axels and transaxels. And let's not forget about the more than 10 million engines that have had to be replaced on these Hyundai and Kias. Yeah...not something I would want to trust...And yes, there are those outliers who claim to have a billion miles on their Sorento with no issues what so ever (I doubt that), anecdotes do not make the norm. The point is that Kias and Hyundais are entry-level automobiles...the Genesis is just masquerading as an upscale vehicle, but it's still just an entry level vehicle...generally, when you see one of these Kias/Hyundais/Genesis, you KNOW that the driver has not had their driver's license for more than 5 years (yes, I know, generalizations, but the analogy works here because there's more truth than hyperbole). As a rule, when you see one of these, you steer clear of them on the highway because the driver lacks the driving skills to handle most road situations beyond simple turning and braking... Whereas with the Mercedes, almost *ALWAYS* the vehicle is being driven by an older person...someone who as "made it" in life and is enjoying the luxuries of their years of hard work...and when you see an AMG, you're most likely encountering an older vehicle enthusiast who not only enjoys a bit of luxury, but also a considerable amount of fun! And the power from that engine is no joke! It's got enough to stand up the hair on the back of your hands! No...really, no. There really is no comparison between the two...you may want to believe there is, but it's just your own bias getting in the way of what could have been an interesting comparison...Sorry...I didnt' even bother finishing this video because the first 3 minutes told me where this was going....
