Well done. My husband and I quit drinking almost 4 years ago and it has changed our lives. My husband had health issues also. All of those things you mentioned did come true for us. We still like going to pubs etc with friends. We just drink something different. The atmosphere is still the same for us. And yea we have saved a ton of $$ and our health is so much better.

When in SE Asia, my favourite drink was iced lemon tea. Not the pre-made canned stuff, but made by the shopkeeper. It is sweetened, but sometimes I was lucky enough to be able to get it with "little sugar".

I stopped drinking for 7 years and last year I started last year. When I drink I drink four to five pints. I have stopped again but had half a pint of Madri few days ago and I am glad I did not have anymore. I do not think I will drink again and if I do then its only half a pint.

Hey guys. I completely understand what you are saying about the social aspect of drinking. I also enjoy every aspect of the brew. Whether it's the socialization, the pub atmosphere, the history, an appreciation of the craft that goes into it, or just the fact that it's tasty. With that said, I'm perfectly happy having a non alcoholic drink with you anywhere, anytime. BTW... I don't know if it's the lighting, the camera, or both but the quality of the footage looks fantastic. Carry on.

I never drank very much but as I get older, I find that I only drink on special occasions now - holidays, weddings, etc...I don't miss wine, beer or cocktails at all and when I do have a drink, it's really something quite celebratory!

Wow! Alcohol and caffeine! Congratulations. My husband and I did “dry January” and I’ve kept it going into February. We enjoyed beer drinking far too much in the last few of years and it shows up in several ways-definitely on our waistlines. We have also been doing healthy keto and intermittent fasting. I’ve lost 12 pounds and my husband 15lbs since January 12th(thanks to Dr. Berg’s channel). My husband has cheated quite a bit and still loses weight😜 . His blood pressure and cholesterol has decreased a good bit & my mental clarity and attitude have improved for the better😊. Like you, I’m looking at alcohol differently- more as a occasional treat than a nightly routine. Best wishes to you both. Love watching your channel❤

Thank you for sharing! This is a profound vid! Alcohol has been part of our daily lives, especially every evening since we've been married. It's a social thing and a way to celebrate us and our day and it goes well with us cooking together. But as we've gotten older as well, we know we do not need to have martinis every other night. It never hurts to check yourself!

Bravo to you both! I find as I get older alcohol is less kind to me even in small amounts. So I have cut way back, which has helped both my wallet and my health. It would be wonderful if you came to Portland OR, my neck of the woods, and yes we have amazing craft beer here (although be prepared for a hefty price tag for a pint $10-12). Definitely take advantage of our daily happy hour culture (we love happy hour in the Pacific Northwest) which is usually from 15:00 to 18:00. Safe travels you two. Thanks for all the interesting videos.

No caffeine, too! Are you mad? Kudos to both of you! Moving forward I think you'll definitely have a "cold one" on ridiculous hot days, but you'll cut down for sure. Delay, but not deny. Love how you referred back to your mission of living an intentional life. Personally, I don't buy ice cream. However, I love getting ice cream from a parlor, and that only happens on rare occasions. Sending positive vibes and healing prayers! Loved this video!

Well done. I find a cold San Pellegrino or similar fizzy mineral water is a good way to enjoy company or a nice setting etc.. the fizz has you nursing it rather than guzzling. I used to live with someone who thought drinking a couple bottles of wine for dinner was some kind of badge of honor. I have just spent three months of travels in France and Italy and it takes a lot of will power to not have that accompanying glass (or bottle)with every meal. However, like you I want to keep the travel up for the long haul - I am waiting for you guys to amend your travel plans from the next ten to the next twenty plus years!

Congratulations for making it through a month, particularly in that heat! I gave it a try as well in January - I made it with only 1 exception (when in Tequila, Mexico, I HAD to try the tequila!). Our grocery/eating out bills were quite a bit lighter and I lost a few pounds. But it was winter (aka, perfect weather) in Guadalajara and Mexico is filled with delicious juice drinks that made choosing them over alcohol very easy. With a couple of exceptions (enjoying time with old friends), I plan to keep it up (Levon is going to dabble rather than commit). I could NOT have cut out alcohol AND caffeine at the same time - you two are Olympians! We continue to cheer you both on as you get healthier and live your best intentional life!

Good for you. I had a Heineken 0.0 (alcohol free) for the first time last night, and it had all the taste and quenching effect as real beer. Last month I also converted to Reed's non-alcoholic, zero calorie ginger beer, and it's been okay. I won't say I'll never drink again, but it started concerning me that I had worked into a healthy, low sugar, plant-based diet but was allowing myself regular alcohol, which all indications are that it is worse than sugar and meat. It didn't make sense to have healthy food but deadly drink. Best wishes to you for moderation going forward, and good health. Here's to being free, and smart in our freedom.

Congratulations, good effort and great you are not giving up alcohol completely, but enjoying it moderately. I enjoy wine occasionally now, and drink organic and sulphite free. We're beginning our own journey at the end of this year and I'm determined to be in the best shape possible to enjoy our retirement. After everybody went home after Christmas something just switched in my head that I need to lose weight and take back control of my health. Started with a 5 day fast and have been on one meal day since. Cut out alcohol and only eating quality foods and making sure I'm topping up crucial vitamins and minerals. Never felt better and have lost 17 kilos in nearly 2 months.

PDX can definitely present a challenge for limiting alcohol. But there are lots of good session beers to choose from so it is possible to enjoy the brewpubs without too much alcohol. I have been working on intentional eating and drinking for several years. I think of it as quality over quantity. Rather than mindlessly eating snacks or drinking alcohol, if I choose to snack or drink, I choose smaller quantities of really good quality food or drink. I find that I enjoy the experience more and consume less.

I haven't had alcohol since mid November.. I was never a heavy drinker, but I did enjoy a glass or two of wine after work.. Nevertheless, I decided to cut out alcohol all together to assist me with some weight loss.. I have since lost approximately 15 kg.. I physically feel more fit and it's certainly noticeable walking up a staircase, etc.. At 184 cm and weight of 77 kgs, I feel good..Now, let's hope I can keep it this stable for the coming years!

In the heat you dehydrate even if you do drink just water. Juices make you dehydrate just that little more. Alcohol is even more dehydrating so with the heat that's more, maybe drunkness lasts longer, so lucky you did drink those beers Well done
