🌹1. Don't lie, 🌹2. Don't be unjust even towards people, who you dislike, 🌹3. Don't backbite, 🌹4. Don't gossip, don't spread false rumours, 🌹5. Don't slander, 🌹6. Don't trick people, 🌹7. Don't be two faced, 🌹8. Don't be aggressive, 🌹9. Don't disrespect your parents, 🌹10. Don't skip salats/namaz, 🌹11. Don't have "boyfriend"/"girl friend". Remember these "bf"/"gf" are temporary but the scale on the day of Judgement will effect you forever. 💚 Start doing: 📿1.Daily prayers salats/namaz, 📿2. Daily Dhikr (for example: Allah Akbar, Subhanallah), 📿3. Send salawat (salawat means greeting) to the Prophet Mohammad (saw) => Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa ala aali Muhammad, 📿4. Reading Quran, understanding and following it, 📿5. Be nice to your parents, talk to them softly, 📿6. Help your mother with the household, carry big shopping bags for her, tell her "Thank you" for cleaning the house, tell her "Delicious" for the food he cooked, 📿7.Feed the poor if you can, 📿8. Feed street animals or pigeans or squirrel in the park or collect rubbish from the parks or beaches and bin them, 📿9. If you don't have any money to feed pigeans , squirrels , stray cats , dogs etc, don't worry, just put out a bowl of clean water in front of your house or building or in the garden, at least the animals will drink clean water, 📿10. Help your neighbour or help a child with homework, 📿11. Bake a cake and give a portion of it to your neighbour, especially if they are poorer than you or they are elderly 📿12. Fast , if you can, 📿13. Visit a mosque once a week, 📿14. Plant a tree. You don't have a garden? Don't worry, check it on google for tutorials, you can plant some trees in a pot in your balcony, once it grows a lot, then you can plant it in the forest, 📿15. Support charities if you have financial means. Even if it is monthly only 10EUR, that's still a sadaqah. If you don't have the money, don'r worry, just pray. And never show off with your good deeds. Your job is not to impress creations like humans. Also even if the list lookd like a bit difficult to manage, start from today even if it meant to have 1 or 2 good deeds, you can increase the number of good deeds gradually. 🌹Feel free, copy and paste this message. 31. UMM HABIBAH: PART 1 (See Masjid Ribat for PART II) Please make dua for Shaykh Uthman, his team and myself. May Allah forgive any mistakes I may have made. [00:01] Introduction Now Hijrah x 2 has happened to Habasha. We take important lessons regarding what happened to Muslims in Habasha, one of them being Umm Habibah. Her actual name was Ramla bint Abi Sufyan who was the daughter of the famous sahabi, Abu Sufyan. He at that time was a staunch enemy of Islam. His daughter was married to Rasulullah ﷺ. Umm Salama who was also in this first group of Hijrah was also married to Rasulullah ﷺ. We will find that none of the marriages of Rasulullah ﷺ were for worldly pleasure. Other than the marriage with Khadija RA before Prophethood, none of the marriages were by the will of the Prophet ﷺ himself. There was always an Islamic reasoning for it. [02:27] Ubaydallah Ibn Jahsh RA died as a Muslim or Murtid? Umm Habibah had performed the Hijrah to Habasha with her husband Ubaydallah Ibn Jahsh. The famous Zaynab bint Jahsh was his sister. In the books of seerah like Ibn Ishaq and Tabaqat of Ibn Sa'd, it is reported that Ubaydallah Ibn Jahsh became a murtad, a Christian. This is something that is well known and almost every comprehensive book will mention this. The one mentioned by Ibn Ishaq is without a sanad and the one mentioned by Ibn Sa'd comes from Al-Waqidi who is a matruk narrator. Due to it being well known many of the ulema have relied on this narration but Shaykh Uthman rejects this narration for the following reasons: Firstly, Al-Waqidi is an extremely weak narrator, a matruk or a mawdu (fabricated) depending on the grading. Secondly, it is contradicted by that which is stronger. The famous Hadith collection Sunan of Abu Da'ud mentions that Umm Habibah she was married to Ubaydallah Ibn Jahsh and he died in the land of Habasha. It does not mention that he had become a Murtad. Then it mentions that she was married to Rasulullah ﷺ afterwards when he was in Madina. So if this incident had happened when Ubaydallah had become a Murtad, then this marriage would've happened before he was dead, because he had already become Murtad and their nikkah would've broken. Secondly, when the King of Romans Heraclius meets Abu Sufyan in Hudaibiya later on in the seerah, he asks him about the Prophetﷺ. He asks if the followers of Prophetﷺ who become Muslims, do they make Irtad meaning do they go back from the religion? Abu Sufyan says, no. And that is the general rule that we don't see any Sahabi leaving Islam. So at this time in Hudaibiya, Abu Sufyan clearly says no. If his own son in law had become a murtad, he would have pointed that out. So it shows that what we find Sahih in the Sunan of Abi Dawd, and what we find Sahih later in the tareekh (history), it shows that this weak narration can not be relied upon even as a Hasan li gheri or acceptable. So what we authentically know is that Ubaydallah Ibn Jahsh RA died in Habasha as a Muslim. [07:18] The strength of Umm Habibah's Iman After her husband's death, being in a foreign land now all by herself was very difficult for Umm Habibah. Here the Iman of the people gets tested. People of Habasha would've loved for her to leave Islam, become a Christian and even would've gotten her married to a Christian as many in Habasha including the priests were not happy that Najashi had accepted Muslims into their lands. But this is a women who had brought iman upon her own tahkeek (research). Her own father Abu Sufyan was a staunch enemy of Islam at this time. The leaders of Quraysh were so harsh with the Sahaba so imagine what how angry he would've been with his own daughter accepting Islam. And for her to then have left being from the household of one of the leaders of Quraysh, and living in the hardships of being in Habasha and then without a husband, without that support, it must've been very difficult. But she was strong in her Iman, and she kept to her faith. [10:17] Rasulullah ﷺ's proposal to Umm Habibah Later on in the seerah, when Rasulullah ﷺ is in Madina and by that time Najashi had become Muslim (even though he had kept it secret), Rasulullah ﷺ sent his proposal for Umm Habibah. Umm Habibah is older at that time, and she has already been married, she's not somebody who's in the same geographical location as Rasulullah ﷺ, so why would he marry her? He is not marrying her because she is young or so beautiful, or because the relationship of a husband and a wife can be pursued, or she can serve him because she's all the way in Habasha and he's all the way in Madina when he sends that proposal. The Ulema such as Ibn Kathir, Ibn Hajar and more have mentioned some fawaid (benefits) from this which are summarized as follows. Firstly, it's a testament to her Iman, that she was somebody that Allah ordained for her to be from the people of Jannah, from Mmmahat ul Mu'mineen, from the mothers of the believers. Secondly, it's a testament to her patience. When her husband died, imagine the tests she must have gone through. She could've complained that she made hijrah all the way to Habasha from Makkah and now her husband is dead, she could've become a Christian or gone back to Quraysh. Instead, she remained steadfast and Allah rewarded her in this life and the hereafter. It is also a testament to Rasulullah ﷺ how he had a soft heart. Abu Sufyan at this time was not a Muslim so who conducts her nikkah and was a wali for her? It was Najashi himself. This is the first daleel (evidence) that Najashi was a Muslim at that time. Secondly, its a fiqh ruling that if there's a woman who is a revert, or her family becomes murtad, in a case where she doesn't have a Muslim who can't be a wali for her, then the Muslim ruler of the land can be a wali for her. It might be difficult in some of the Muslim lands nowadays so you can bring a Qadi, a scholar, an imam or some pious leader in the community who can be a wali for the revert. Abu Sufyan came to Madina when Umm Habibah was already there. He came at a time when Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was at a fragile moment and he had come to restore it. He went to his daughter Umm Habibah's house to visit her. He lowered himself to sit on the bed. Bedding at that time was like a piece of cloth or a floor mat. As he was about to sit, she moved it. When asked why, she said "this is the bedding of Rasulullah ﷺ and you are a mushrik." This is a weak narration. [16:24] Fiqh ruling from the marriage of Rasulullah ﷺ and Umm Habibah In the Sunan Abi Dawd, Hadith # 2107, Najashi even paid the mehar out of the love for Rasul ﷺ in the form of 4,000 dirham, a silver coin. Ulema of tareekh including Ibn Hajr writes that this was the most expensive mehar of the any of the wives of Rasulullah ﷺ. It was not paid by Rasulullah ﷺ but was paid on behalf of Rasulullah ﷺ by Najashi. There's a lot of fiqh rulings we can derive from it. If someone marries more than one wife, it's not necessary that all their mehar will be the same. Secondly, somebody can pay the mehar on behalf of somebody else.

My friend asked me this question and I don't know how to explain to her but she asked why would Allah swt deceive (Astaghfirullah) so many people by making it appear that Jesus (pbuh) was crucified? Sheikh I pray in a masjid which is built around a qabr of a martyr(probably), a Syed by name. The imam tells me that there was nothing there, except the grave and the masjid was then gradually built and developed around it. So should I not pray there or what? Edit: the qabr falls on the back side of the masjid therefore it does not come between the qibla and the masjid. Please do reply.
