Shirk happens when you show over-reliance on your material possessions. See Sura Kahf verses 32 and 42. . Shirk happens when you obey your desires and disobey Allah. See Quran chapter 45 verse 23; (‘Have you seen him who has taken his desires as his god’) . Shirk also means to change the place of Allah. When you love or hope or fear anyone other than Allah, you change His place. This is what the Christians do and what some Muslims do. ‘Shirk’ is an unpardonable sin in Islam. . A common type of Shirk is also to call or make dua or to seek help from other than Allah. . "The Quran says on the first page. - ‘You alone we worship, and from You alone, we seek help.' . There was no J word at the time of Jacob (Israel) according to the biblical narrative. So how could Hebrews have been Jews? Al-Israa 17: Verse 4) فَاِ ذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ اُوْلٰٮهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَا دًا لَّنَاۤ اُولِيْ بَأْسٍ شَدِيْدٍ فَجَا سُوْا خِلٰلَ الدِّيَا رِ ۗ وَكَا نَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُوْلًا "So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled." (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 5) ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَـكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاَ مْدَدْنٰـكُمْ بِاَ مْوَا لٍ وَّبَنِيْنَ وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ اَكْثَرَ نَفِيْرًا "Then We gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower" (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 6) اَحْسَنْتُمْ اَحْسَنْتُمْ لِاَ نْفُسِكُمْ ۗ وَاِ نْ اَسَأْتُمْ فَلَهَا ۗ فَاِ ذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ الْاٰ خِرَةِ لِيَسٗٓئُوْا وُجُوْهَكُمْ وَلِيَدْخُلُوا الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوْهُ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّلِيُتَبِّرُوْا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِيْرًا "[And said], "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves." Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction." (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 7) عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ يَّرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ وَاِ نْ عُدْتُّمْ عُدْنَا ۘ وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ حَصِيْرًا "[Then Allah said], "It is expected, [if you repent], that your Lord will have mercy upon you. But if you return [to sin], We will return [to punishment]. And We have made Hell, for the disbelievers, a prison-bed."" (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 8) اِنَّ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰ نَ يَهْدِيْ لِلَّتِيْ هِيَ اَقْوَمُ وَ يُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الَّذِيْنَ يَعْمَلُوْنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ اَنَّ لَهُمْ اَجْرًا كَبِيْرًا  "Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward." (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verses 9)
