I love this. Don’t fully understand the witchcraft & wizardry I just watched you carry out but I’m amazed you do. Massive kudos to you and loving the videos I’ve watched so far.

Very smart and a nice neat job as well. I have a shop vac with an auto start socket on it, it's on it's last legs so when it finally dies I hope I can work out a way to repurpose the circuit board in a similar manner to the way you have done here.

I agree with Gaz, it is an excellent and clear explanation of what you have done, and you tell the story at the right pace. Slowly when it is more complex and speed it up if you are just putting lots of screws in. Good timing too as I have been pondering how to wire up my shop vac for several tools without the need to plug and unplug all the time. Where did you get the Socket extension originally, please?

Thanks for your kind feedback, re extension lead, it was about 15 years old, from the days of CRT monitors, I probably got from Amazon, or Maplin (before they went bust) have a search for power saving extension lead. I only found it recently, sitting on top of a cupboard in the workshop!

@@DIYTinkerer thanks. I just found one on EBay, £38, but I might "fettle it" like you have done I think. Like the Henry modification too, 👍👍
