The 340 is a very nice plane, a friend of mine owns one and uses it to charter mostly business people around California. New year's Eve 2012 he flew myself and my band to San Diego so we could play a gig on a large charter boat! The ride was very smooth and the fact that the cabin is pressurized allowed us to go over a set list in flight without headphones. Kevin, this plane would be a swell mother's day gift for your better half. ;)

When you pick up the 310 from the paint shop, and if you stop in Atl, I suggest you pay the folks at Epps Aviation a visit at PDK, if you haven't already. The Epps family is very rich in GA aviation. Pat's dad was to GA what the Wright bros were to the U.S. He built the first plane in GA while in Athens. Hence the Epps name on the airport. Pat was also responsible for the Lost Squadron being found. Really nice folks, and a good place to stop for fuel.

Probably the most important thing in this video... when you've got two pilots is defining Who Does What. The only thing worse is two flight instructors in the same cockpit. From day 1 with all my students/licensed pilots, if I wanted the airplane, I said, "I've Got It," and the other pilot acknowledged with, "Your Airplane." When I gave it back, I always said, "YOUR airplane," and they acknowledged with, "I've Got It." Great flight....

C310 roll stability is enhanced by wingtip tanks which increases the polar moment of inertia in roll. Low wings are normally a bit roll fidgety because the COG is high in relation to the centre if lift. That is why I love high wings! 310 overcomes this with the high polar moment. From ageing Cessna single pilot and aircraft tech..

I enjoyed your workmate, Eric saying "N6827L, Climb and maintain 1-2-thousand, go Dawgs", and your compulsory and expected reply, "27L up to 12 thousand, go Dawgs! Was very funny and made me chuckle. And I'm not even an American, but I know who you're talking about. Down my way in south pacific NZL, we say "Go the 'All Blacks'", who are the world's best international rugby team, wearing only a black colored uniform of short sleeved jersey, shorts, studded football boots, mouth-guards, lots of tape around body joints, no body armor, no helmets, no black lines under the eyes, no timeouts, but our national silver fern leaf emblem on the left chest, and their 1 to 15 position numbers on their backs. We play on real grass turf with 1 team, for two 40 minute halves that don't stop active play, and mostly win against the 4 UK countries, Australia, Argentina, France, and South Africa! :)

I did get a bit of 340 and 404/421 time as well and agree the 340 is just that much more versatile. I surprised myself by remembering the v-speeds and the 180 for the the first notch of flaps and 140 for the gear. I've only flown about 5 hours since then (separated by about 15 years each 2.5 hours) but it's like riding a bike. Thanks for the ride... really enjoyed it.

Nice flight. I love the explanation of the pressurization, it sure filled in some blanks. John is right, using asymmetric thrust for crosswind approches/landings is the way to go.
