Indeed! They always bring more than expected…I’ve always loved them since like 2016 but my first time seeing them live was in 2021, I was blown away, there wasn’t floor tickets only seats so I didn’t expect much…they proved me wrong and now I consider them still the best band I’ve seen live, and the cherry on top was Doug Martinez throwing the one of drummer’s drumsticks AND I CAUGHT IT!

These guys were in high school when they wrote most of this album. There was almost nothing like them at the time. Rap was over rock records, not bands rapping over their own guitars and such. Tons of bands started doing this within a year or so of 311 coming out. 311 didn’t start it really, but they were early in the sound. Omaha Stylee is a great song, but kind of a deep cut.

This song appeared in a skate video in 93 called mr mooseknuckle. Great song i heard first on a great video. the soundtrack on that vid included 311, Ben harper and the bloodhound gang all before any had serious air play. The skating and music were 2 years ahead of their time.

I understand what you’re saying about the guitar and vocal volume but you gotta remember this shit was recorded in the early 90s so the equipment isn’t exactly on par with what we have nowadays. Great to see somebody reacting their old shit. That’s the their best stuff for sure.
