This album came out during the darkest time of my life. Homeless in Raleigh, tried to move back to California, ended up homeless there. Went to rehab for 60 days. Got out. Relapsed immediately. Went back in for 30 days. Got out. Relapsed immediately. In a moment of desperation, I got a bus ticket to Olympia, WA and moved in with my friend from the Army. He doesn’t even take Benadryl lol…being around him was the example I needed to get out for Good. I got married, got a house, started a business with my wife, got divorced. And now I’m in the dark again.

Congratulations. They so many with this theme, especially around this time period. Very inspirational. I think I was around 15 months at that point. Yup, the band is from Nebraska, a middle of nowhere state with pretty much nothing in it, nothing to do. The song is about him growing up, becoming hooked on drugs and alcohol- like a lot of people from a middle of nowhere place often do.
