Newly diagnosed aged 54. Counsellor in training currently also. A lot to take in. It really chimed with me what Rory said about life experiences of feeling let down by people. In my own family of origin I have certainly experienced increasing feelings of being let down or being very different to them, really seeing things very differently. I think this is perhaps one of the reasons why we choose our own company often because it is basically easier.

wow. I've just heard Ken talk about how as a child he used to be able to confidently speak out loud. This was me also. I enjoyed it. This is the first time I've considered this as part of my Autism. Unfortunately for me growing up in a Catholic community and education; speaking out with a strong confident voice was really only permitted when requested. Thats another story.
