Hi Michelle, you may have already so, but if not, please try this with white pigment paste and color it with a tiny bit - or more - of the colored paste. Since it is highly pigmented, the combo should work.

@janeanwesthues638911 ай бұрын
It wasn’t what you wanted BUT I, personally, LOVE it! The black behind it shows off where the clear resin broke apart the paste. You did a Bob Ross and made a happy little tree! I’m glad you did this particular experiment because I made a ton of mica paste (BTW, in that video you said use resin, not resin or hardener) and I was wondering how it would look. I may very well try to make one of these “blooms”. I wonder if I can get a galaxy look with a couple of colors?? Also, remember, the homemade pigment paste was made with sparkly mica where the white is just…white. Mica being heavier is what might have changed it up.
@glitznglitterbymichelle111 ай бұрын
To make a pigment paste, you can choose either side A or side B but just one or the other obviously so it won’t cure lol
@kdscraftcorner11 ай бұрын
I've seen it work. But you draw the actual petal. Like drawing a flower on paper. Doing swirls and then drawing through them only makes the pigment paste run together as it blooms. It needs more space to bloom. Hope that makes sense. I'll message you a couple I've seen do it.
@VickyCooksalot11 ай бұрын
Interesting result. 🤔 I noticed that the Let's Resin black shows a sort of green tinge behind the bloom. This also reminds me of when Daniel Cooper did that bloom test on resin depth. I wonder if it being a shallower pour got the petals moving more and so it sort of blasted out. The result has me thinking about it.

I think it could be worth it testing with a lighter colored background. I think the shimmery blue bloom looks really pretty, but the black makes it stand out a bit too much? Either way, not a flop just not what you were going for!

Went to your easy store looking for the double 3 Oz. Mold that you talked about and could not find it. Did you just not get it up yet? I am wondering when it will be available. I'm interested.
@glitznglitterbymichelle110 ай бұрын
Instead of making the double mold, which was harder to mail I did a discount if you buy more than one that way it would’ve been the same price if you bought the double mold.
@katiefinken780511 ай бұрын
That was a great experiment. I'm wondering if because the mica powder is heavier than alcohol inks, are you able to color the white paste with the inks to keep roughly the same weight. I did like the black resin though. The flower was pretty in its own way too. Thank you,

Oh My! I could spend such a large fortune on your ebay site but I have to wait until after Christmas 😑. I did end up purchasing some glitter for some Christmas gifts I'm making though 😁, so a happy compromise for now. I love this 3 oz'er mold - great idea! (is the ebay site showing it's 5"?) Gosh, you make your swirls so even, my hands just don't, LOL, mine are more like kindergarten circles. I love the aqua color of the pigment, without too much trouble, do you remember what the mica color name is that it was made from? Anyhow, I know you think it's a semi-fail for it's purpose, but it's still a gorgeous coaster.
@glitznglitterbymichelle111 ай бұрын
In the eBay store, it will say 5 ounce volume or 3 ounce volume in the title of the coaster. I don’t remember what color but if you watch the video where I made it, I will probably say on that video.

I don't think it's necessarily homemade pigments , I think it's the mica in them,if you used a tiny bit of titanium oxide in your colored pigments they would be heavier and keep the petal shape just like white pigment does. The mica by itself is too light.

@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 ahh I see. Thought it might be something like that 😱 I was just wondering about the price of the single and the double mold of your crystal edge coaster molds?
