There is no luck in the hole thing... you can calculate the best path by running though all possible path at the beginning the problem of his mouse is he running it at high speed an the mouse can't actually stop before hitting wall.

It's good. Meant to force the micromouse into lots of turns, which is their achilles heel. They are so light for maximum speed, they slide if their speed is turned up too high. They use lint rollers on the wheels because a single piece of dust is enough to break traction xD Pretty cool 'sport'.

Most mazes are actually lousy and easy to solve. It's only in fairy tales that mazes provides any challenge and then they usually involves a minotaur or moving walls.

wow that was amazing he actually got it in just 5.085 sec. I think this is partially luck since the mouse cant really determine which path is correct and if the mouse chooses the right path from the start then you can get it to goal real quickly.

xXxWaltzxXx This is not how this works. The mouse maps the whole maze and calculates the fastest path between given points in the maze. Note how I said fastest, not shortest, as acceleration an breaking needs time too, which also gets weigthed during calculation.
