I love that scene so much!! XD plus I laughed too, but incidentally halfway through that case there was a piece of dialogue that prompted me to go googling, and I ended up learning about the disbandment of the samurai class after the end of the sakoku period and the modernisation of japan. The samurai as a class were extremely corrupt and exploitative, but it cannot be denied that they defined an era. One of those pieces of modernisation employed against the samurai was an edict passed in 1871 which forced samurai to cut their hair short, thus effectively banning the traditional style of the chonmage (the style that Auchi wears), not to mention that the cutting of long hair is often associated historically with banishment, and more modernly with rebirth, in Japan. So him cutting the hair was in some ways symbolic of him finally accepting that Japan was changing as a nation, and that he must accept that change as well - a running theme of the game is modernisation and the prices we pay for it - and the rest of the courtroom recognises this, and pauses to honor the change with him.

Even after finish TGAA2, this theme still hits me so hard. *Spoiler* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Part of Kazuma Asogi was dead, at least in Ryunosuke's mind. That isn't idea law student he looks up in the first game, that is just another person tried to find the truth about his father and revenge his father death. But there is still hope, a hope about finding the truth, and truth will guide them do the right thing.

For example, after Vortex agreed to allow Naruhoudou take over Kazuma as the exchange student, he asked Naruhoudou what he meant by 'taking on Asougi's mission' and asked him to answer precisely.
