I managed to fix my old FT757GX....whic was my dream radio when I was a boy (Conrad catalogue from 1990's) and I thought I would never ever own one!! lol. Well done to save a radio from going into the trash, it is a joy to watch a master at work specially when you cannot get spare parts but rewind a new coil and fit and set up the settings :) you made the owner very happy to get it working again good job Peter. :)

Great fun - if you don't have a day job! I tend to spend too much time worrying about the Q, ferrite mix, temperature coefficient and the winding capacitance to even begin such a repair. Surely a magnet would quickly tell you if the coil carrier was magnetic? One of my pet hates is that amateur equipment manuals generally give you the values of every component EXCEPT the inductors!

To replace bulbs is not so critical the only you need the the ability to use a solder iron probably in order not to damage the PCB..

+TRXBench ok last question, do those lamp fuses light up if they are working properly? If so mind is not lit. It's very small and hard to see but it looks like it's burnt out and there is a trace amount of brown on the tip of the bulb.
