I just realized that this exact same race at least with the last lap happened with my two teammates. They ran 10:44 as well and went 1st and 2nd in the race. It was fun to watch as they were sprinting all out the last 150

These are fast runners man my fastest time for 2 miles is 12:52 which is not that bad considering I’m a freshman in high school, but to get the times that these athletes are getting is all mental because when you run long distance you get bored, and for them to get these times it’s really impressive

Way back in 95' when I was a Sophomore / 14-15 yrs old I ran a 4:59 1600m/ 10:42 for 3200meters (with not nearly enough training really) I couldn't continue beyond that year due to host of issues.

My PB in the 3200 is 8.32, but unfortunately that was in 1987, these days it would be more like 83.20, but love to see the traditional distances still being run.

In highschool I use to do everything from a 400 to the 3200. I prefer the 3200 and my best time was a 10:17. Watching this makes me want to go out and try to beat that time.

My best ever 3200 was at a meet last year where I took the lead after lap 1 since I could sense the rest of the leaders slowing down, and I just hel 79s for most of the race and finished with a 10:36 after leading the whole time
