It was great to see this entire performance again, lots of stuff forgotten over time. This was my first live concert of any real significance, I was 16. Great time with my brother and cousin here. Seeing the backdrops fo zumiez tour have me chills, that was a trip to see again. Unlocked memories.

This just goes to show how big “Bam-mania” really was. It’s quite sad to see just how far he’s fallen. It’s one thing to gracefully fade from relevance, but Bam was truly a case of a fall from grace.
@josephpiedmonte Жыл бұрын
I sadly would not be surprised to see he has passed on at any moment. Listening to him talk now, he's manic. It's so difficult to wake up from that and I hope he finds his light.
@Algernon7 Жыл бұрын
Looking back, I have no idea why I thought he was so cool when I was growing up. I recently got nostalgic and tried to watch Viva La Bam, and I turned it off in the first 10 minutes, it was so bad. I know Bam is probably playing it up a bit for the camera, but he just treats everyone like shit and comes off as a massive tool. It's sad that so many kids looked up to the guy like he was an idol.
@ryanjohnson6614 Жыл бұрын
@@Algernon7 You know, it’s funny. Something that I think Bam Margera was capable of doing was making a career out of hanging out with his friends and doing all sorts of creative stuff together; regardless of whether it was stupid or not. Going back and watching the CKY videos, the first Jackass movie, Haggard, and maybe the first season of Viva la Bam, you can see Bam was basically living the life that every preteen/teenager only dreamt of doing-and making big $ and notoriety from it. Stupid stunts, skateboarding, raising hell, creative skits, and even full length movies. He arguably catapulted his brother’s band into stardom as well as bands who otherwise probably never would have broken the American market (HIM) alongside shining a spotlight on all sorts of heavy/alternative acts. That’s quite literally the hero’s tale that so many young (namely boy) kids dream of doing. It’s like getting you and your posse “out of the hood”, so to speak. Telling every teacher/principal/yard duty/authority figure to screw themselves and watch you just defy the odds and live life on your own terms. But thanks to modern social outlooks (namely lifting the veil to get a glimpse behind the scenes and see just how many figurative dead bodies came at the expense of these “dreams”) and just an audience that grew up in general, it’s clear that Bam was a mean-spirited, opportunistic, manipulative, inconsiderate diva of a bully the whole time. Since it was always his perspective that we were getting, everything seemed to just be chaotic, creative, debaucherous fun 24/7. The way he treated his father was a prime example of this. Now I personally never found the excessive torment Bam put Phil through to be funny (probably bc I was a kid who was bullied a lot but wanted to come off as “cool” and nonchalant when I would get picked on because I was terrified of showcasing any vulnerability whatsoever), but it’s clear that Phil was deeply hurt by Bam’s abuse. Remember the “Chester Rumble” he put Phil through? The somersault kick to the head Bam gave to Phil square in the head? And Phil actually *cried* from it and all Bam could do was laugh and proceed to throw newspapers on him following the assault? That just broke my heart for his father. Poor Phil. (reddit.com/r/jackass/s/3WZljo2C9J ) But if that’s how he’s willing to treat his parents, how did he treat his friends? He was physically and emotionally abusive towards them. Just constant put downs towards people like Mark Hanna (kzbin.info/www/bejne/innTY3uGa7aLl5Isi=W-MulF5JQCDKMVsF ), how he treated Raab and Novak like his own personal whipping boys, how he treated fellow crew like Danger Ehren (kzbin.info/www/bejne/noiUimx_pap5jKssi=Ko_0caDbVzRGRQ_b ) and how he clearly can’t take what he dishes out (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJfZe3ehrrCgsKMsi=67JjnOhUaQ83Bs_P I mean, punching someone in the head for tackling you onto a bed after you were planning on terrorizing them? Really??). Bam has always been a massive pos. His audience just grew up and he didn’t. Who I once thought was this brilliant and tenacious strapping young lad was just a narcissistic man child the whole time. I sincerely apologize to everyone I came into contact with during my Bam-worshipping years. Quite literally one of my top 10 greatest regrets in life.
@jasonbisdead11 ай бұрын
Apparently he’s “sober”. He talks about it a lot. Probably still strung out on adderall though. Of course Novak is hanging on in every comment section to grift as much cash as possible. Man it’s sad to see that even when they try to do something positive, it’s driven by insanity.
