Bonus Facts: This show was officially billed as "CFH" (Cowboys From Hell) and not as "Pantera." Same with the merch. First Avenue Nightclub has 1500 capacity. It is the club where Prince recorded Purple Rain. It is widely considered one of the best run clubs in the country. Minnesotans love it. There are hundreds of stars with band names painted on the outside that bands dream of getting. As far as I can remember back to early 2000s, Pantera always had a star at First Avenue. Pantera played here in the Cowboys from Hell era. Phil said The Melvins were playing at the attached sister club, 7th St Entry, last time they played in 90s. In 2003, Metallica played this small club and did an autograph signing the night before they played Minnesota Twins stadium, The Metrodome. I couldn't go to Metallica autograph signing because it was 18+ and I wasn't 18 yet. Lol. I did go to the Metrodome show the next night. Check out my other videos and playlists for metal shows in the Twin Cities going back 15 years. 🤘

@@jeffreyrussell3012 You are wrong. It is a pantera non-pantera tribute weird situation. If he plays zakk wylde stuff then even not taking it like disrespect, it is a bad show. Skolnick did this with savatage and ok, it wasn't the greatest thing ever but now after all these years, having pantera songs with different solos would just suck. If he wouldn't do it they should just hire another guitarist that would do it, no egos attached. Benante plays exactly out of respect to vinnie paul and the fans. That is why zakk wylde does the same.

Not enough bands left that can fill venues of that particular size anymore, which means there's a limited amount of them per major city, and no one wants to build new ones in underserved markets. And that's before you factor in scalpers, Ticketmaster and their nonsense etc. Be the change, mate. Keep going to live shows and bring your friends, especially for local acts or bands that aren't massive like Pantera and Metallica. If enough people do it, these venues will come back!

Metallica are so damn lucky to have Rob with them. Rob seems like the kind of musician that's just there to rock out to metal regardless of the venue. He could easily slip into any band and feel like he's been there since the beginning. He just has so much respect for the music.

To all the "that's not Pantera" people: yeah, we *KNOW.* Dime and Vinnie (sadly) are gone. It's not like they were kicked out or they decided to leave and/or start their own version, like other musicians have done. At least with other bands, hating on the current lineup or pining for a reunion that will likely never happen is your prerogative. It doesn't do any good to point out that this isn't the "real" Pantera because that version isn't an option anymore. If you don't support the decision of the remaining members to stay together and continue to tour, stay in your cave and listen to the stuff they put out prior to the early 2000s. Some of us appreciate that we can still see the remaining members live and keep the band's legacy going.
