You're so patient when working on your car with your son. I remember helping my dad out when I was a kid and he'd get pissed off over everything. He'd ask for a special tool with a weird name and when we didn't know what he was talking about, he'd scream and curse us out lol. He was an alcoholic at the time, so he was miserable when sober. Still, I have always loved cars and working on them.

Eastern Canada here. Up here it wouldn't matter what color the Trailblazer was when new, the paint would be all gone from the door handles down. In fact, the floors would be well on their way to being rotted through. Damn them up here with their road salt.

Some junkyards won't let you bring a jump pack in, especially the u-pull-it type yards. Too much risk of sparks being created by cut and disconnected wires and causing a fire in the vehicle.

Yeap junk yard don't let people bring jump starter in. You can bring small one in your pocket but its very dangerous is there a lot of gasoline cuted wires etc you can create fire 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 so not an good idea

Should have looked for one that had the factory Bose radio and speakers in it. I have that system in my 2003 Trailblazer and the sound is so much better than the normal system like what you got.

Did you plug the abs wire back into the hub assembly. That causes abs light to come on, or the other assembly on other side may be bad also. Check abs wire for breaks.

ABS light came on? I bet that new hub had a bad wheel speed sensor on it right out of the box. I had the same thing happen to my '05 Colorado once when I had to replace a bad hub assembly. Note that the ABS and Traction Control will not function if there is a code stored/light on, so that is a safety concern. My Colorado was sketchy to drive when the ABS was malfunctioning.

Well that's one reason I won't live in Cali. Hate all the laws / rules out there. In Oklahoma we have no inspections, no laws about check engine lights, no laws about ABS lights, nothing at all. It'll be OK.

The 2 threaded holes in the rotor let you use bolts to push the rotor off. I have better luck that way myself but also deal with slightly rustier stuff.

Bargain all round and a beauty to boot!!! Will make a fantastic family car. Especially a larger family with the third row of seats .... Minor hail damage doesn't bother me either being in the UK you get used to it too!! Ain't a car around here that doesn't have some hail shot (as us locals call it) on it. My work truck looks like hail went bat outta hell on it but it's the best 6 large horse horsefloat puller I've ever had (and I've had 7 trucks over 25 years and it's by far the best it's a USA imported Dodge Ram 2018. Best damned truck I've ever owned . It's Metallic Midnight Blue with black Leather interior with all the bells and whistles and then some ..... I'll keep it till either it dies or I do)..... Congrats on the 2SS ..... That's a whopper of a ass kicking car!!

Must be nice to have that low of rust. Up here, to take off my original 2006 rotor I had to use fire, penetrating grease, a sledge hammer, lots of cussing for it to come off

I live in PA, and just recently did both front hubs on my 2003 Trailblazer 4x4. I didn't have to use a sledge hammer, torch, or anything like that. Just used a breaker bar to get the bolts and hub nut loose and then a small hand ratchet to remove the bolts and nuts. It only took me about 1 hour to replace both hubs and that includes the time jacking the vehicle up and removing and reinstalling the tires.

I'm guessing the radio was coded to the doner vehicle so effectively a paper weight. Would have been better off springing $50 for an aftermarket unit and $20 for a fascia adaptor.

They can be reprogrammed - there are videos on here showing how to do it, or websites that can give you the code. I was more shocked that the switches have to be programmed by the dealership. Wtf is that all about?

@@rich_edwards79 You wouldn't believe the shit that needs programming these days. New battery on a BMW needs programming otherwise the computer controlled alternator could overcharge it causing it to explode. Tyres need to be changed in pairs on the same axle because the car knows the rolling diameter is different on an old/new tyre combo and brings up the ABS fault light! MAF sensor on Mercedes needs to be programmed otherwise car runs like poo and shows an "algorithm" error. All designed so you HAVE to go to a main stealer. 😡

When I was a license & bonded car dealer (for 13 years), I purchased vehicles at Copart and Insurance Auto Auction. The thing that I hated about insurance auctions, their auction fees are crazy high compared to regular auto auctions. There’s no such a thing as a $325 vehicle at these insurance auctions. They nail you with a $375 buyer’s fee, then another $125 yard fee (fork lift brings your purchased vehicle out of the sales yard). Total auction price of this vehicle, likely $825.

*You should be able to reset that ABS light with your Launch X431 code reader. more than likely that new hub assembly just wasn't being recognized properly*

I paid $100 for my trailblazer ext. It's not for sale, I put new tires, new brakes, new fan clutch, new 02 sensors, new ignition coils and spark plugs, new fuel pump, used transmission. As far as the sounds she has a complete Kenwood system which includes the radio, kw door speakers, 2 kw amps one for the highs and mids and one for the subs, it has a kw 7 band equalizer and memphis tweets. My next project is to replace the carpet and repaint her the same color

I could initialize it with my Autel scan tool but It would require me to download the GM program for it which is not free you actually have to purchase that from General Motors to do programming
