So true. I tend to get caught up in my hyperactive mind and try to study so many spiritual topics at once - and I end up confused with 5 half read books! I'm definitely struggling with consistency... ;) Thank you, this video was needed right now!

"It's sometimes important to adopt the archetype of the scientist." Brilliant. I've found the same. Sometimes the questioning isn't relevant, isn't helpful. To trust the initial commitment and to see it through is a beautiful crusade 💗💗💗

You know this totally fits for creative paths too. Needing to be consistent and ignoring the doubting voices in your head. Just doing it and seeing where it leads you! Thanks Kelly-Ann, you're a doll XXX

Thanks for commenting, @Jo! Applying some of this wisdom through the lense of creative discipline really resonates with me. I don't know that I would have applied that sort of filter to my lack of consistency in my art if you hadn't mentioned it. Brilliant on both counts, KA's principles and your perspective shift. Thanks 💜🔑🍄🎨

Calls to mind a philosophy of education that is about discipline over content. It is not _what_ you are studying that is important (Latin, Higher Math) but the fact that you _are_ studying (note-taking, organising your understanding, revising), giving you a habit and discipline that will stand you in good stead whatever you decide to do.

I make a commitment to meditate once a week and draw cards once a month. Other than that, I just do things when I feel like doing them. I've never liked the idea of a daily routine. But the altar will call me to it whenever I need it, and the waves of the sea, the clouds of the sky, they are always there for me.

Years ago I found the rising sun in the east every morning was the great teacher and weathervane for meditation and some yoga, setting intention with candles and smudging, its only 20 mins but it change my life. As the years passed I feel I've returned home, no matter where I am, or how hard things might be I always return to the source.....so happy to share. Thank you for your words of wisdom

This has spoken so true to me. Work has left me very emotionally and physically drained recently. I now realise that just spending 5 mins at my altar each day could soothe me. Maybe prayers and affirmations will be the way forward to get me out of this spiritual slump.

Such a Beautiful reminder of the value of consistency in maintaining our spiritual foundation for everyday life. Difficult times are manageable and it’s a comfort to have that foundation that we built ourselves through our hard work and effort. Yes being present and in the now 💓💗💖

I know there’s a reason this video popped up for me. As someone just getting started in a practice and not quite sure what to do. I’m journaling while I listen what things I could do at my altar, what my core beliefs are, so I can go ahead and set up that practice and make it consistent. Thank you!

What you have said is this video rings very true for me. It has taken me a while but I have come up with a spiritual practice. Once, I start working with it my life fell into place and the chaos subsided. I now meditate every day at least for 30 minutes to an hour a day and when I miss it (life happens) I feel out of sorts. I have taken this method and using it others areas of my life like exercise. I have found 30-day challenges that I have been able to stay with and so far so good. Thanks for sharing.

I love that you are able to share about coming back to consistency. There are times where my practice is very disciplined for months but I might loose the rhythm during a tricky week. However, I always come back. It helps me to come back to other responsibilities. I think that maturity, like you allude to, is the ability to stack habits and consistently work towards our personal goals and desires. Great video!

great video. tfs. wonderful how we can get the right gentle 'shove' into what we need to hear, at precise times we need to hear them. i say shove with all endearment, but as a natural procrastinator, i'm bound to see it as so, sometimes. actually alot lately, but couldn't be more grateful....................happy dayz :-)

Often people quit doing something because they don’t see results but they fail to see the results when they stop to pay attention. Attention is key. Refer back to The Tarot, The Magician is giving his operation a fixed gaze, his attention is focused. Even if it appears nothing is happening; it is. Building faith takes time and it’s not immediate. Also how people seek support can speak volumes as to whether they stay committed. I put it in my mind, even if no one I know cares or sees what I’m doing that I stay true to my vision.

Firstly, love the quote and hair! Your voice is exquisite and meditative. "You have to bring yourself back to the path. "- so true and something that I use to struggle with greatly. Whenever I do something in my practice that I feel I don't need instead of thinking about it that way I tell myself "this is just for my enjoyment. This is to strengthen my relationship with ___ energy. " However, I love the concept of spiritual preparation. Being a generalist was a struggle I had, but now I am coming to a point of leveling out and selling into more concrete beliefs, practices, and ideas whist still maintaining an open mind til the vast diversity of the world. I love the ending quote as well. Challenge accepted. Thank you for your support and wide guidance. It is very much appreciated. Blessed Be darling. )0 (

So many things. In one video you mention renaming people...I do that too in that some peeps names are not "right" in some way for them and I either can't remember it or feel the need for a nickname. Wow KA (hmmm sounds a bit Egyptian, just felt right for you) I didn't want to wathc this video- you mentioned feeling that your titles aren't poetic sometimes, and this one I was like ughh nah. But when you get to why you meditate and just like free-flow.. "I'm preparing for my dying, for when I'm betrayed, for when depression gets me by the throat..." wow, blew my mind. And I can see the little thread of Buddhist influence-in the frankness of old age, sickness & death (big Buddhist contemplation's.) Elsewhere you mention the teacher Tara Brach (?) LIke that's fierce-as no one in West wants to contemplate death. Yet that is a high spiritual practice in some traditions as it gives you a true freedom! I'm still searching for my authentic voice as I switch emphasis in my work and you are such an inspiration.

its been scientifically shown that whatever your habits they create neural pathways in the brain. So practise makes a network of pathways in the brain and the more you do them the wider and stronger they become. Brain scans have shown this. These pathway networks will stay with you for good. Someone who does 20 press ups a day will still be fit if they miss one or two days. Same with the inner gym. Practise is usually for balance so if you kinda in balance you won't feel the need. Practices changes during life. Each person has their practise, a secret communion with the source, that they must do regardless of whatever. Traditionally 40 days will create neural pathways. x
