The reason for Solar's extreme reaction is that her parents were strongly against her pursuing a career in music and this was the first time she ever heard them give any approval. Wheein's mom was alone because her father abandoned the family and that's why Hwasa's father said the plural daughters. Wheein spent lots of time with that family growing up. Wheein now has a good relationship with her stepdad. Moonbyul is just a crybaby. They had to stop another concert and make small talk while she went backstage to compose herself. I heard they warned Wheein in advance and she walked past each of the others to see if she needed to sing their parts.

"I love too" started out a song by solar (who tends to write all their songs dedicated to the fans) as a response to an event the fans did to surprise the girls at one of their performances, holding up signs saying 'never letting go' (mentioned in this song, even). The girls all broke into tears at that, taking turns stepping to the back of the stage to wipe their eyes. Moonbyul and hwasa added their parts to it later (which again happens with at least one later fan song) And you're right, they had zero clue their parents sent videos in (in celebration of their first concert). They were expecting messages from fans, instead. Also, an easy to miss but huge thing in the message from hwasa's parents was her dad saying 'our daughters', including wheein in that as well as hwasa

I agree with you saying "I don't want to rank this". The song may be beautiful, but it's not about the song. It is a perfect expression of one of the core things that makes Mamamoo my ultimate group. The love we feel for them and the way they feel, recognize and return that love. Star, Wind, Flower, Sun is the same way.

Wheein is a huge r&b fan, so much of her solo music tends to at least touch on that genre, if not being firmly in it This song is completely wheein, she wrote it. Many of her released solo songs are at least partially written by other songwriters since she is not good at sharing the songs she writes (hwasa said even she doesn't get to see many of them). RBW's music ceo said he has a stack of songs wheein wrote that he wanted to release 'when the time was right' but zero clue what happened with them when she switched agencies Wheein has performed this song as part of her solo stage at concerts and the fancams are something to see

I love too, this performance is insane for emotion. Solar wrote it for fans who were at a small venue performance, the girls then were about to give up, but those fans all had signs to hold up for them to read and be encouraged to keep going. I have seen that video, moonbyul saw the signs first and started crying which spread. Yeah, the video was a surprise. The plan was a video of their training days, the CEO switched it to these family videos. Hard to see Solar especially, she is so obvious with emotions. Though if you listen, you can her her and hwasa sob a couple times. while singing. But what amazing talent, to be able to continue singing that well, during such extreme emotions, crying and maintain that voice and breath control. There are probably not many singers who could do that

Melting?!? No, it's Memory! Melting was released half a year earlier! :P 8:17 The second one of your two pronunciations. Maybe it is easier if you split it in two: Decal and Comanie? :D Incidentally, at that time, Decal and Comanie were nicknames Wheein and Solar called each other! Never letting go.... Sigh... I cry every time... Arguably the most important song for a Moomoo (just like Reason for an InSomnia, I guess). I believe I read that this is the _first time_ Solar's parents told her they support her as an idol? They thought she was wasting time with all the auditions (having been rejected like 40+ times before she was finally accepted into Rainbow Bridge World) and wanted her to become someone respectable like a doctor of Korean medicine, or at least have a career, like a flight attendant that she wanted to be before she turned her eye to being a singer. Hwasa's father saying 딸들 "daughters" (twice!) is not a mistranslation: Wheein's home situation wasn't the best, and she hung out at Hwasa's a lot. Everyone is always impressed with how Wheein, who one could think of as sensitive, kept it together, glancing at everyone, checking if they were okay, looking if she might need to jump in and cover. 19:40 For A.Z.E. G.A.G. (ajae gaegeu, ah-jay gag-guh?), the MV is hilarious. About the lyrics, there is a flowchart. If you care about lyrics, AND if you understand Korean, AND if you like dad jokes, they are hilarious. If you don't like dad jokes, groanworthy. If you don't understand Korean, there is a video by DKDKTV that explains most of the jokes. And if you don't care about lyrics, safely ignore :P The group asked the fans to send in their dad jokes, and Moomoos obliged; the whole song is nothing but one dad joke after the other. That should give you context for the MV, which otherwise leaves most watchers very puzzled. :D

Oh... "aze gag" has a video, so you know. But no need to try to even follow the lyrics on the song as it is made up of puns and dad jokes, most of which only work in their original language so make little sense when translated. That said, a channel called dkdk tv tried to explain them all at one point (they also did nice breakdowns for some of hwasa's solo songs, among othet things, explaining cultural significance of lines or scenes that are easily missed by non-koreans)

I am sure I have said this before, my fav song of mamamoo is always the last song I heard. My list would be weird and will change daily. Don’t stress too much about your ranking. All the songs have strengths and if you were to allow it they would be changing regularly. I think we will get to see this when you get to mamamoo the best album. As it has the alternative arrangements of their songs, so you will sort of have a chance to re-rank a bunch of their songs if you feel up to the massive task.

Question for you Ross, since you say you "rank the song, not the performance". You've said you have a hard time being able to read the subs the first time, and the lyrics are such a big part of the song. Why not watch it a second time, and read through the lyrics, BEFORE you rank the song? Because honestly, once you put the lyrics with the melody, and the music, it could seriously change the way you feel about a song, since the words of a song have so much meaning, and are such a huge part of the song as a whole. Like "I Love Too" being about Mamamoo's love for their fans, and how much they mean to them. Now you can say that, and it sounds sweet, but when you actually read the lyrics, and how heartfelt their lyrics truly are, and how much of Themselves, the members put into the song. It makes the song so much more. Just a thought. Take care, and looking forward to your next Mamamoo reaction.

Woo Hoo is actually a commercial. Gleam is as well. It's not on any playlists, but I recommend still another commercial called Cash Leaflet. It's only 40 seconds, but it's a complete Mamamoo song, with a rap from Moonbyul. I have no idea what a cash leaflet is, and searching for it just brings up the Mamamoo commercial.
