You *really* need to hear their live "I Miss You" performance from Queendom, even just on your own time. They and their voices had matured (several years after the original recording) and it's truly glorious. When we got the first audio teasers for Destiny, Moomoos started layering it over western movie trailers (e.g., Tombstone) and it was a hilarious perfect match. :)

YASSSSSS IT'S MAMAMOO AGAIN BITCHES!!! Their discography is so diverse and their vocals so incredible, it's quite sad that they've fallen out of discussion in the Kpop community in recent years despite being the best girl group ever. But alas, that's how Kpop works - you have to be from a huge company, you have to dominate charts, break records, and Mamamoo was never that type of competitive group. They just focused on good music, fun performances, and they never fostered a toxic fandom. Probably why they never made it huge (their fans were never obsessive about numbers), but it's what makes Mamamoo my ult group. The fandom is chill, the music is amazing, the girls are insanely talented...what not to love?

I honestly have no issues with that... the greatest artists aren't always the comercially most successful, but they are often still more respected by their peers, than the ones who break records. And Mamamoo? I never saw them as Idols... to me, they have always been real artists, which is what makes them standout, and their work timeless. ❤ Even if kids these days can't appreciate them, their music will always speak for itself, and withstand the challange of time. ❤

That’s part of why I love them so much. They literally give you everything- romantic, sad, angry, party, sexy, hilarious- they have a song for literally every moment. And then they have the audacity to have those vocals/raps on top of that. I barely listen to anything that isn’t Mamamoo since I found them. 😂😭

They give us vocals and emotion with songs like I Miss You, Where Are We Now, Paint Me, and I Love Too, etc and switch it completely with songs like Recipe, which is about making Kimchi fried rice, while actually making it on stage as they sing the song.. Then with 1cm Taller about who is the tallest, to Sleep in the Car about them having to sleep there and they don't even have time to wash their faces, to Aze Gag about Dad jokes... Hilarious!! They were actually my first kpop concert and glad they were because they are so good. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

You've talked about how even if the backtrack doesn't necessarily build up on the arrangement, it still sounds fresh/different and not boring .... not sure if you've been noticing but in mamamoo songs, it's rare that the same member sings the same parts of the chorus. They usually switch it up between members. Each member's voice is unique so it adds a different flavor to the song (even when they sing the exact same note) depending on who's singing. And the final chorus is when the harmony buildup & adlibs happen :) If it's a MMM song, you can always find something amusing just by their voices alone :)

123 EOI is their team chant before they do live performances and is my favorite song from the album. There are a lot of fan references in this as well. Words dont come easy is an older song meant for the stage, they usually bring someone from the audience on stage put them in a chair and then seduce the fan with this song, well just imagine sitting in the chair being seduced by these 4 women and that is what the song is for and if they dont use a fan, it is usually a very sexy performance involving chairs. I Miss You is one of their best ballads, this is one of the songs that won them the Queendom contest. They sing the song slightly slower live and wow the live performances are something and I have seen them sing it live, there are just not many who can sing live like they do, it is an experience and this song live is epic, which is probably why it helped them win contests. I suggest watching one of the live performances. Destiny is another Queendom song which put them over the top and won it for them. Again the live performance for that show is a must see. They even did a destiny part 2 on their 2021 Best album, which is a continuation of the story. Chuck is a great song and in an interview back when this album came out they said that was their favorite, it is on my playlist along with 4x4evr and Diamond, just a great song. Mamamoo made a 13, score isnt surprising but really they are not merely kpop, they are their own genre and musical force.

Mamamoo are 4 strong individuals and together they become a punch. Leaving apart their unique voices, insane vocal tecnique and stage presence I decided to stan them because they releases no-skip albums. So i know its late but 123oi is homage to what they do. As a fan the Mamamoo harmony is how they present/introduce themselves. They literally sing their group name. It was on the debut song and the 123oi is what they always say when their together. The mv represents what they like to do together, which is sing Karaoke, have fun and drink. This is literally what they did a lot in their younger days. They don't do it too often anymore because they are all doing solo activities, but when they do come together they do what they do in the mv, dance, loud, sing, eat and drink.
