I love when old couples talk about their marriage and you see that it's not just love and attraction, it's ups-down, respect, trust, sacrifice, support, understanding, patience. It's a whole journey that is never perfect for anyone but when you stick together and you have a life partner, this is amazing.

Yeah, my sister have been married for 35years, it's crazy when I 'm around them, asking questions sometime when they are together and separately to get answers; sometimes they give exact same answers. It's fabulous!! I love them

Wow! This is what love looks like. I’m not in love nor do I plan to be in the next 10 years because I’ll still be in residency etc... But, I aspire to be in love like this. So genuine. So pure. Passion. They still have butterflies until this day. You can tell they’re best friends! I don’t know if I’ll ever get married because I don’t want kids but, if I ever get married. I’d want my forever to be like this. I pray that whoever is reading this finds peace and love. I pray you find your best friend and passion in life. I hope you don’t compromise who you are in order to be accepted. I hope you stay true to yourself and know that you deserve so much better. I hope you know your worth. Most importantly, I hope you love unconditionally and you’re willing to forgive and let go. I pray and love you, world. Jesus loves you!

I just watched this video twice. This is so touching!! My heart is filled up with their love now. Thank you so much for having these two lovely people on. I always appreciate when you invite "older" couples. It gives me a vision, a future to dream about, some ideas about my own life when some more years have gone by. Thank you, Kathy and Mark 💖 for being so open and honest and showing your great hearts! And thank you The Skin Deep, as always 🙏 incredibly grateful for your work!

I feel like this is what an actual marriage is and looks like. Marriage isn’t easy and isn’t always roses and sunshine but it becomes worth while when your with the RIGHT person. You have your ups and down, arguments, compromises, etc. This current generation paints this nonexistent picture of what they want marriage to be. It’s beyond that and I feel like this beautiful couple has showed that!

I somehow could see them both sitting there in their young years, right when they met. That’s it, love met them, and they never left it.

Older couples like this are healing my childhood worries that love not only doesn't last but inevitably becomes abusive, because of the examples I had. I'm seeing what's possible for others is possible for me. I can also relate to this man's workaholic tendency. When she describes it at 6:05 and reminds him to notice when he needs to take time for himself, I could feel his accepting but tired response echoing the internal drill sergeant adding "self-care" to the to-do list. lol Workaholics anonymous, for real. What might have gotten missed in her message is the underlying fact that he is already enough. He does not have to do anything else to be enough, or prove he is enough. His intrinsic value is what merits taking time for himself, because he is valuable. His goals and dreams are worthy, but not worthy enough to run himself, the real prize, into the ground. ...I might have to put that reminder on my desk. :)

I've been married 29 years and I always say how I'm StilL IN Love with him. Its not easy and people now days think marriage is disposable and give up too easy. But if you take the time and work at it it gets easier. We always told our kids to marry someone who you can say is your best friend. Share good and bad times, confide secrets, trust and honesty and RESPECT

When she said that if she's gone he'll need to be there for the kids and stick together is exactly what my mother said when she knew she was going to die. I wish I could of made that happen, but my father has moved on and hurt my sister and I horribly after my mother's death. I hope more fathers who watch this take that message to heart.

This channel has really helped me through these current uncertain times. I am supposed to marry my fiancé next month, but with the virus getting worse again I fear that we will be forced to postpone. These videos, and of course my amazing fiancé, have shown me that through all the tough times we still have each other even if we aren’t married yet. And a true love will never get broken even with this virus. I am so grateful to have such an amazing partner.

What I have observed and noticed on the clip was Love is not just a feeling and also it's not just u want. Some people say that you just need your heart to love or you just need your mind to love, because they are saying that love is tricky and dangerous. But most of the people don't think that the two parts of the body need to work together. You need to choose to love someone everyday, every second, and every minute. You need to love her/him with feelings and choose her/him everyday with ups and downs. But the most important that I hear on katy was, "they are married and never ever she thinks that she will end the relationship for the both of them." Because..... The toughest part is that you need to choose someone that is true and compatible to you, that God gave him/her to you. Pray, Wait, and Trust. When you find Him/her don't ever and ever give up. Because life isn't perfect and what matters is you choose to love her/him everyday.

Funny; when she asked him what their relationship feels like I thought of very comfy, fancy hotel high thread-count linens that you slip into after a long day before he even answered the question. That is what my ideal relationship would feel like, too.

I wonder if she lost her mother, has/had a narcissistic mother or just doesn’t/didn’t have a good relationship with her!? Either way… I love how they get each other, have so much respect for each other, and how she said “I don’t think that will ever heal, but you get it!”

I was in two relationships, and now I'm 16. I've learned that relationships are hard, and they are not for me. I like being a lone, and just without stress : ) so I'm not getting married or dating anyone. But I do plan to have 1-2 children. Hopefully, I can adopt or get a donor in the future. I still want to achieve those goals!
