Pouring Your Heart Out

Pouring Your Heart Out

Күн бұрын

Elmers school glue for Acrylic pouring.
For this flip cup pour, I used 70% glue and 30% water as my pouring medium. I then used 1 part of this pouring medium to 1 part of my Global impasto paint. If you are using thicker paints like Liquitex Basics, you will need to use 2 parts PM to 1 part paint and if you are using thinner paints, you will need to add more paint to get your mix to the correct consistency.

If you tilt your your head so you view the video sideways, with the left side as the top, you can see a cartoon pony. Around 14:11 the center of your painting looks like there's a pony well if it were ...sneezing. The tight swirl that you initially thought might be bowl suction, is the hair then there is a teal blue cell that makes the eye. Its so fun to find things in your paintings like finding things in the clouds. You are so great to watch! I have learned so much from your work narration and especially your unplanned comments to yourself. Keep up the experiments and all your awesome painting!!

I have read slot of comments and Cindy R. You were one of them why do all the viewers have to say negative about the artist that is painting and trying ? Bad , ugly, comments can have a negative affect to some people and make them quit !! Why not just click off and go view another video and not hurt someone feelings ! I know it’s not my place to speak up but I watch a lot of videos and it seems to me that people just love to say something ugly instead of just not posting at all !!! I want to say I am sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings about this but come on guys these people are doing this for the whole world to see they deserve a thumbs up just for that !!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💕💕💕💕love everyone’s work because it is more than a lot of the viewers because they viewing and not painting !! Do I love watching Julie’s work? YES , you can learn a lot from her she doesn’t just flop it on speed up the camera , were are you ? go come on what are you doing that you don’t want everyone to know about ???👍👍👍to pour your hearts out love your work !!! I watched another do an upside down pour like that and she out holes in the bottom of her cup, then out masking tape over the holes and while the container was upside down she took the masking tap off so the holes would keep the suction from occurring. I think you will find this helpful.

Hello! After I wrote this I realized it's very long, I've just been watching all your vids. In this video, you referenced #135 your "best pour ever" I have to say, ...you have Soooo Many great pours! There were subtle differences with that pour that are not seen again since that pour. You worked on a recycled canvas, it seemed that canvas had perhaps some former glossy surface combine that with thicker paint.. "60/40 pouring medium straight glue and water and 50/50 on colors. Your more recent pours are 70/20/10 pouring medium or 70/30. You do switch sometimes. Then it was added 5...FIVE... drops in each cup. (Not white) You did turn slower and took an enjoyable time with it. There were a few other tiny details, like your flip cup was not as full and I believe it was raining outside on #135. The rain makes a HUUGE difference, at least for me here in Southern California. In studying the two videos as I was just watching the other earlier today, you used no Floetrol then, just GLUE/WATER 60/40 MIX. the high Dimethicone (5 drops) is a strong water resistant mix. It seemed to me that was the main trigger. The heavy water at 40 percent and a heavy water resistor (dimethocone) really grabbed that water and celled up. If you had Floetrol in that mix, it wouldn't have pulled at the water.. (resisted the water) as much. Also, if I may suggest... and I'm sorry, I don't mean rude or intrusive, on the larger canvass 20x30, use 3 flip cups about half or less full on 20X30 or larger add another cup. On a smaller canvass use two with less paint. That's how I get mine to work best...AND...I always use a slightly "wet" or a thin wet white layer before the pour. Dry canvass, even with Gesso, seem to really sap the moisture and without that grabbing power of water to cell up or "resist", you will get cells but they will be weak and wobbly. I greatly enjoy your videos and the wildlife that visit you. Keep on "pouring your heart out" , we love your work!

Thumbs up, I think it's pretty *** I haven't been painting lately cuz, well, life kinda takes over sometimes, however, I have time to watch a few others paint lol. I was thinking about what u said about too much pink. Although, I really like, I feel your pain on trying to achieve something your working hard for to get! Anyway, I was thinking and thinking, it's a good possibility that it's due to the glue your using. I use elmer's school glue too, however, I don't use the washable kind. Just a guess here, but I think... because of the washable glue, your binders are breaking down to fast as to your also using water, therefore, blending the colors more instead of building them up and giving them time to bind. I dunno for sure, but I am pretty educated in science so i'm just giving you my best guess. Try elmer's glue that doesn't say washable! See if you notice a difference♡ good luck my friend♡

LOVE your sensible informative approach to pouring/art. Can you clear up a few points for me please 1 when you say 50:50 paint to pouring medium, do you mean equal quantities, ie. 50g paint to 50g pouring medium ( which I would call 1:1) but forgive me if I have been over-thinking this and got totally confused?? 2 when scraping a previously used (still wet) canvas, do you need to re-gesso the canvas? You can tell um a total novice but desperately keen to learn everything NOW. I do hope you can help.

I think you may like using a small hand held torch better than the large, very powerful more construction grade one you currently have. It's kind of overkill. With a small one you can be much more controlled with where it is working on the painting as well as having less concern with it getting too hot too quickly. Just a thought, thanks for all your posts!
