(336) ACRYLIC POURING - RIBBON Pour on Narrow Canvas - MINIMALIST Look - Full Tutorial

Today I am going for a minimalist look with the Pantone color of the year, Very Peri. This is slightly lighter than VP. I experimented by using my polycrylic mix for the ribbons and a Floetrol mix for the base coat. A few more cells popped up in the ribbons as it was drying, but that only added to the futuristic look, I think! Details below as always.

Today's colors: Artist Loft Soft Body white, bronze and metallic black. Master's Touch Violet.
The base coat was mixed 5 parts Floetrol, 3 parts paint and 1 part water.
.All ribbon paints were mixed with the following Pouring Medium (one part paint to three parts medium, plus a bit of water to thin.)
Pouring Medium (Dan Hodges' Recipe):
3 Parts Floetrol
3 Parts Minwax Polycrylic
2 Parts Glue/Water Mix (3:1)

You know I love this painting! I love your lines! This is my kind of minimalist painting. I'm interested in seeing how this dried...did it stay the same? This size and style of canvas is perfect for your line style. I've got to try this out...but first I need to practice pouring the lines like you do. @@ChrisJeszeck Meh! Not as nice as the wet base. Still good for adding some embellishments though, if you don't mind the line being the same width the whole way across. Was worth a try! We never know until we try. I was thinking of adding some waves on a background that I'm doing a mermaid on, but I will paint them instead 😊

How long does the ribbon pour need to dry? Also, what do you use to finish it? Spray varnish? Resin? Curious minds need to know. Thank you for your beautiful tutorials.
