Thanks for this tutorial Kanella. It’s funny. Just starting out the first technique I tried was the bloom. I had some success but not a lot of lace so I asked on fb. I used your Dutch pour recipe because that is all I had a recipe for and then Amsterdam titanium white US floetrol and a few drops of wood conditioner. It worked awesome. So I just thought that’s how you did it. Lol. Yours are so pretty

Great work Kanella - they look fantastic. The reason it works with your dutch pour paints is consistency - all of your coloured paints are the same consistency. I think it is the one thing that puts people off is because they don't get their paints to the same consistency but you just proved that it will work because of that very reason.
@trishpetrovasvilla113 жыл бұрын
Great job Kanella! I have to tell you - while watching your bloom technique I could literally feel the stress leave my body. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep up the good work with all your techniques. I do have to tell you though, it’s reassuring to us novice artists to see a “fail” now and then. It just lets us know that not everything works out for everyone. Thanks for all your inspiration. One note of what I found to help: go to the dollar store and buy a package of disposable shower caps. You can use those on your spinner instead of plastic wrap (which I find very annoying to work with). You can also pull a shower cap up over the bottom of the spinner to stop splatters from gunking that up. Just sayin’. Have a good evening!

Hey so the thing I liked about #131 is that you gave an alternative recipe for the CA if you didn’t have access to Aussie floetrol. Did I miss this variation in the new video or do you just have to get Aussie floetrol? I got some from your recommendation thru Etsy. But for those that don’t have any, do you still recommend the formula with the wood conditioner? Just curious.
@KanellaCiracoArt3 жыл бұрын
You could always try the formula from video 131 but I didn’t try it and I won’t bother to either. There’s sooooo many places to get Aussie floetrol now.

Wonderful Tutorial Kanella!!!! Love the results too!! However Tammy Anderson just did a video with No Pillow Paint!! And a wonderful lady, sorry forgot her channel name I dont follow her. Her video was just in my feed. The video was on American Floetrol for artist who cant get the Australian Floetrol but want the same results. And using Amsterdam Titanium White paint 1 part with 10 parts American Floetrol as your cell activator will give you the same results as Australian Floetrol. Anyway the results of this technique are so gorgeous if we really want to achieve it we have to play around and practice!! Or just buy it from our favorite artist who can just do it!! 💜

I have played with this now, thank you for sharing! I have gotten great results with regular white or black base paint for the pillow. I used my Dutch Pour paints for colors and made cell activator with this recipe and used Amsterdam Titanium White, and Carbon Black. I have also tried some of my other brands for cell activator and have had success as long as the color I use is opaque. Payne's Grey and Burnt Sienna have turned out pretty cool. I have had success 50% or more of the time. 🙂
