This video is still helping me 10 plus years down the road! Thanks Freddy

Thanks Freddy. FINALLY A TRUE "HALF" PIRO!!!! I've been chasing this maneuver for almost 7 years. You also turn into the piroflip from a standstill, which is the safest/most controlled manner. Also, the only way to really show the maneuver. Going into a dumb spin and then stick stirring is just too hypnotic!

I feel like learning from you makes for a much more disciplined pilot. I can tell by your maneuvers that you are just precise and know where the helicopter is at all times, this sort of flying take cat like reflexes and discipline. You blow hardcore 3D pilots out of the water because you fly with control and precision instead of banging the sticks around like an idiot. I'd trust you with my OMP M1 any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Wow, it is amazing to watch you fly. You got serious skills and I have been learning from your flying style and I just notice how much precision I am learning.

i was struggling with the full piro flip but could execute well the half piro flips showed by bert kammerer in smacktalk. When i saw your method Freddy, i could immediately see the similarity with the one of smacktalk (quarter flip, stall, change the tail, quarter flip). So i got at it and could sort of do the full piro in one evening ! Now i got to do it many more times to make it look good and in one spot !

Good lesson. I had learned how to do half-piroflip before I was watching this video, thus it took me 2 sim sessions (1 hour each) to learn full-piroflip. I have to practice more in sim ( for week or two ) to try this in real flight. Thanks for this video

just keep using that sim until they are done without thinking. then start to slowly transfer that to the real Heli, and with some nerves of steel you will get them down :) fly safe buddy

Hi, I really like your training video. However, I'm in Mode 1, please help to record the video also with the transmitter in Mode 1 such that I could know the stick movement in Mode 1. Thanks. Joule

Hey freddycanfly, I've been watching your videos for a few years it seams. I'd like to say thanks for sharing your time and helping us improve our skills. I quit heli flying because it was so hard and I never could accomplish any moves without totalling my heli every time I tried. So I quit and went to fixed wing. Now I'm doing 3d with fw. So I'm willing to give the cp heli a try again, I no it takes a lot of practice so I'm not going to by another heli until I get it know the Sim. So I'm trying to find what setting I should use. How does one no what setting he should start with. Expo /Dr. ? I feel comfortable hovering, figure 8, inverted. I just get lost when my tail slides out inverted. Maybe if you have time (I no your busy with the new Web site) let me no where you started maybe this will further me in this side of the hobby. One day I can help ppl learn to fly....

Again, thanks for your efforts in taking the time to break this down into manageable steps, I fly Mode 1 and have the disc split on to 2 sticks ( Like the Japanese), I don't have the advantage of being able to stir and time a single cyclic stick, however this has helped enormously, just working on joining the 2 half piro flips together, this will take time....Take no notice of the Mr negatives out there, your time and efforts are appreciated by noobs and experienced alike. question, Do you find it an advantage to pirouette left or just what you instinctively started doing?

I’m getting back into helis after I stopped around the time of the Blade 700x release. I’m back. Just bought an Align 150x and still have my blade 500x and 550x. And a slew of micros. I’m just basic 3d. Thank you so much for these videos. Maybe I can finally fly 3d the way I want to. What simulator are you using? I use a DX8 and would like to use my sticks on a simulator. Thanks again.

Welcome back buddy and thank you for the message. In this video it was the Phoenix RC simulator (amazing) but now I have changed over to Accu Rc and plan to do some updated flight lessons.
