He never got the tuning just right but SO WHAT! He was born to play that guitar. What a master even at such a young age! He still is.
@v.c113411 ай бұрын
It's actually very inspiring because I struggled with tuning my guitar since I was a kid and a teen. People love to talk about talent like you're born with it and everything comes easy with it. In reality is just sheer will and discipline put in practice every day for years and years

I don't know what is the reaction of Bireli himself when watching this video, but for me it is such a wonderful story to see he was able to dedicate his entire life to music and to guitar, and to actually made it a lifestyle/work for himself. This is so inspiring !

A few years after this Bireli toured with Jaco Pastorius in a power trio performing electric music, classic rock, psychadelia and jazz improvisation. I saw them 2 nights in a row in a bar in Phoenix, Arizona. So Cool ! I had no idea who the guitarist was or of his Gypsy Jazz roots. Fifteen years later I bought a double CD set of a European set of this trio but still did not know anything of Bireli. I read an interview with him about 5 years ago where he talked about that phase in life and I was like: "OH" !!
@Coach492177 жыл бұрын
What was it like seeing Jaco play at that time? Did he have it together (so to speak)? I wonder what influence Jaco had on this "kid" at the time. Jaco was the greatest.
